Abstract:"Genetics" is one of the main courses for the study scheme of undergraduate students in university. This paper pointed out some problems found in the teaching process according to the characteristics of "Genetics" course. At the same time, the thought on the construction of "Genetics" course were discussed concerning the reform of course contents, the improvement of teaching method, the creation of teaching CAI (computer assisted instruction), the compile of electronic edition for teaching materials, the evaluation of teaching level, the innovation of experimental contents and the methods for improving the teaching effect.

Abstract:Textbook is an important tool for generating knowledge and is closely related to the teaching effect. Now the multimedia teaching method has become the common norm in teaching process of higher education. This paper describes the compilation of different forms of "Genetics" multimedia textbook, the selection of contents and knowledge, the arrangement of knowledge module and systematic configuration. The characteristics of compiling process of multimedia textbook are also discussed.

Abstract:To meet the demands of internationalization in higher education and cultivation highquality medical talents, the Institute of Pathology of Zhejiang University trains a bilingual teaching faculty through "sending the young teachers abroad and calling in the famous professors for demonstration", develops bilingual teaching courses from textbooks, question banks and teaching website and reforms the bilingual experimental teaching based on multi-media, virtual pathological slides and clinical pathological discussion. After 20 years bilingual pathological teaching experience, an excellent bilingual pathological teaching group is growing up and this teaching group contributes to the formation of high-caliber medical talents.

Abstract:The bilingual teaching of genetic engineering is of great necessity for undergraduates,because it facilitates students to better understand the basic concept,improve their English level,increase their expertise,and promote their ability to solve problems in their studies.To achieve this goal,it is advised that the strategies such as selection of good textbook,the preparation of high quality teaching materials,the increase in teaching capability for teachers,class discussion and course examination in English are rather effective.

With the guidance and help of the Genetics Society of China, they have made significant strides in the fields of genetics teaching system, publication of genetics textbooks, content of genetics teaching, workshop on genetics teaching, experimental teaching, application of advanced techniques, etc. These efforts have made remarkable achievements and promoted the vitality of genetics. The comprehensive development of education and teaching has trained a large number of excellent genetic talents for the development of China's economy and society. Here, we sum up the overall achievements of the teaching reform and propose some suggestions on the future development of genetics teaching in China, hoping that the quality of genetics teaching in China will take a new step in the new era.
