Abstract:A simple and efficient procedure is presented for Aza-Michael additions of various amines with conjugate alkenes bearing electron withdrawing group catalyzed by polystyrene-supported aluminum chloride (Ps-AlCl3) without the use of any solvents. The catalyst shows high catalytic activity for both aromatic amines and aliphatic amines. Chemoselective additions of the two types of amines with conjugate alkenes are achieved. Regioselective additions of two different amino groups in one molecule proceed smoothly. Ps-AlCl3 has better recyclability and can be reused several times without apparent loss of activity.

Abstract:A task-specific ionic liquid, 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-undec-7-en-8-ium acetate has been successfully used as a catalyst for aza-conjugate addition of aliphatic or aromatic amines to various electron deficient alkenes under solvent-free conditions and at room temperature. The catalyst can be reused for six times without noticeable loss of activity.

Abstract:The DBU (1,8-Diazabicyclo[5.4.0] undec-7-ene) derived task-specific ionic liquids [DBU][Lac] (1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-undec-7-en-8-ium lactate), [DBU][Ac] (1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-undec7-en-8-ium acetate) and [DBU][Tfa] (1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]-undec-7-en-8-ium trifluoroacetate) were synthesized. Among the three novel ionic liquids, [DBU][Lac] was found to have the highest catalytic activity for aza-Michael addition of aromatic amines to alpha,beta-unsaturated ketones. The protocol can give good to excellent products yields and has advantages such as readily work-up and good reusability, which makes this method quite attractive.

Abstract:An efficient Ag2CO3 catalyzed aza-Michael addition of pyrazoles to a, 0-unsaturated carbonyl compounds is developed. In the present of 5 mol% of Ag2CO3, the reaction smoothly occurs in DCE at 120 degrees C to afford a series of N-alkylated pyrazoles in good to excellent yields. It is noteworthy that N1-alkylated pyrazoles are obtained with high regioselectivity (N1/N2 up to above 25:1) when asymmetrically substituted pyrazoles reacted with a, 0-unsaturated carbonyl compounds. Abstract:Enantioselective N-heterocyclic carbene-catalyzed Michael addition reactions to α,β-unsaturated aldehydes by redox oxidation were realized. With 10 mol % of camphor-derived triazolium salt D, 15 mol % of DBU, 5 mol % of NaBF(4), and 100 mol % of quinone oxidant, the reactions of various dicarbonyl compounds with α,β-unsaturated aldehydes led to 3,4-dihydro-α-pyrones in good yields and excellent ee's.

Abstract:Hf(NMe2)4 were used as catalysts to study the aza-michael addition between arylamines with different electronic effect groups and tert-butyl acrylate.It is found that the aromatic amines can only react with one molecule of acrylate to generate secondary amines.Being catalyzed by Hf(NMe2)4,in toluene,under 100 ℃,tert-butyl acrylate were reacted with six kinds of arylamines with different electronic effect substituent groups.We find that,the stronger the electron capacity of the substituent,the higher the yield of the reaction(from 18%to 63%).The products were characterized by 1H NMR and 13C NMR,there were proved to be the target compounds.

Abstract:A general and efficient aza-Michael reaction promoted by aqueous sodium carbonate solution has been developed. The reaction has complete mono-alkylation selectivity and proceeds with complete chirality retention for chiral amino esters. With a broad substrate scope, a well-common catalyst and simple operation, the catalytic approach provides a facile, practicable, economical, and environmentally benign method for the synthesis of β-amino carbonyl compounds.

Abstract:The copper benzene-1, 3, 5-tricarboxylate metal–organic framework (CuBTC) was found to be an effective heterogeneous catalyst for the aza-Michael addition reaction of the four types of amines to electron deficient alkenes at room temperature. The catalytic protocol showed high product yields and outstanding chemo selectivity. The cyclic amines (piperidine and pyrrolidine) and aliphatic amines (n-dibutylamine) provided aza-Michael addition with a high yield of product (⁓98%) within shorter reaction period (2 h) at room temperature under mild reaction conditions using CuBTC. However, it was observed that the aza-Michael reaction proceeded more slowly, giving 62% yield of product after 24 h in the case of aromatic amine (aniline) with n-butyl acrylate in the presence of CuBTC under identical reaction conditions. The catalyst could be reused four recycles without losing its initial catalytic activity and selectivity. XRD and SEM analysis further confirmed that the crystallinity of catalyst was retained during the reaction. A reaction mechanism is proposed for the aza-Michael addition reaction over heterogeneous CuBTC catalyst.

Abstract:We report herein the first example of asymmetric hydroazidation of α-substituted vinyl ketones by using chiral primary amines as the catalysts. A simple chiral primary-tertiary diamine catalyst derived from l-phenylalanine was found to readily promote this aza-Michael addition reaction with enamine protonation as the key stereogenic step, thus enabling the effective synthesis of α-chiral β-azido ketones with good yields and moderate enantioselectivities.

Abstract:The aza-Michael addition reaction of primary and secondary amines to α , β -unsaturated olefins viz; acrylonitrile, phenyl vinyl sulfone and dimethyl maleate has been carried out using 5–10 mol% Co(NO 3 ) 2 .6H 2 O as a catalyst in t -BuOMe at 80–100 °C, giving rise to the desired β -aminocarbonyl compounds or sulfones in moderate to good yields. A wide range of aromatic amines, even those bearing electron withdrawing groups could be added to activated olefins via this strategy. Addition of (hetero)aromatic amines were also feasible, while in case of 2-aminopyridine the reaction was found to be effective only when AgOTf was added along with the catalyst. The aliphatic amines; benzylamine, dibenzylamine, di- n -butylamine were also smoothly added to acrylonitrile and phenyl vinyl sulfone. The methodology describes cobalt(II) nitrate as an eco-friendly, cheap and shelf available catalyst suitable for performing the Michael-type hydroamination reactions.

Abstract:This work demonstrates the scope and limitations of the aza-Michael addition of imidazoles and related heterocycles with electron deficient olefins under solvent- and catalyst-free conditions. The reaction proceeds at 80°C within hours towards completion as long as the azole derivative is sufficiently soluble in the Michael acceptor, which has been used in small excess. Workup only comprises evaporation of surplus Michael-acceptor and no additional solvents are necessary for purifying the products.

Abstract:A bifunctional squaramide catalysed enantioselective conjugate Michael addition reaction of various alpha-mercaptoketones to alpha,beta-unsaturated N-acylated oxazolidinones under mild reaction conditions has been developed.
