Abstract:Objective:To analyze the constituents of essential oil extracted from the pericarp and seeds of Illicium verum Hook.f.to establish foundation for reasonable utilization of them.Methods:The essential oils were extracted by CO_2supereritieal fluid extraction(SFE-CO_2)method,then separated and identified by GC-MS.Relative con- tent of each component was determined by area normalization.Results:61 components were identified from the peri- carp,the identified compounds account for 85.33% of total oil in the pericarp;The main constituents in essential oil of the pericarp were transanethole(45.29 %),feniculine(9.23%),D-limonene(6.25 %).22 components were i- dentified from the seeds,the identified compounds account for 84.92% of total oil in the seeds;The main constitu- ents in essential oil of the seeds were transanethole(58.04%),(Z)-2-decenal(5.02%),(Z)-2-heptenal (4.73%).49 compounds are only existed in the pericarp,10 compounds are only existed in the seeds,12 com- pounds are existed both in seeds and pericarp,26 compounds are identified from the plant for the first time.Conclu- sions:The pericarp and seeds of Illicium verum Hook.f.have ahnostly the same main compound,but their content and the secondary compounds are different,and should be treated differently.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the essential oil constituents extracted from the herb of Elsholtzia cillata.Method:The essential oils were extracted by water-steam distillation and separated by capillary column gas chromatography.The components were determined with area normalization method,and were identified by GC-MS.Result:79 Peaks were separated and 54 compounds have been identified,which were 71.56% in the total peak areas of total essential oil.Conclusion:In the total essential oils of Elsholtzia cillata carvacrol、thymol、p-cymene、σ-cymene and methyl thymyiether are main components.Among them,carvacrol is the highest(23.80%) in the total essential oils.

Abstract:The chemical components of the essential oil from Hyptis suaveolents(L.) Piot were researched.The essential oil was extracted by steam distillation.Then the pure essential oil(I) was treated with ether and essential oil(Ⅱ) was obtained.The surplus oil distillate was extracted with ethyl acetate and essential oil(Ⅲ) was got.These three parts were analyzed by GC-MS.48 compounds were identified in tota1.36 compounds were identified from part(I).30 compounds were identified from part(Ⅱ).10 compounds were detected from part(Ⅲ).The main constituents of the essential oil are trans-caryophyllene,1,8-cineole,sabinene,α-bergamotene,β-elemene,eucalyptol,γ-gurjunene.

Abstract:Essential oils were extracted from Indocalamus latifolius leaves by steam distillation.Ether was used as the solvent to extract volatile components many times.Volatile components were analyzed by GC/MS.45 components are identified,which amount to 62.36% of the total peak area,and their main components are alkane(29.15%),hexanal(11.20%),benzyl alcohol (3.26%),5,6,7,7a-tetrahydro-4,4,7a-trimethyl-2(4H)-benzofuranone(1.94%),2-hexenal(1.92%),n-hexadecanoic acid(1.75%),phenylethyl alcohol(1.71%),benzaldehyde(1.62%),(E)-4-(2,6,6-trimethyl-2-cyclohexen-1-yl)-3-buten-2-one(1.34%),2(3H)-benzothiazolone(1.25%),etc.

Abstract:The fatty acids in Illicium verum Hook.f.grown in Zhumadian and Yulin were extracted by ultrasonic-assisted extraction or Soxhlet extraction,methyl esterificated and then analyzed by GC-MS.The extraction yields of fatty acids from Chinese star anise grown in Zhumadian and Yulin were 26.65% and 34.30% by ultrasonic-assisted extraction and 15.45% and 20.55% by Soxhlet extraction,respectively.The fatty acid composition of Chinese star anise varied little with geographic area and extraction method.The dominant fatty acids were hexadecanoic acid,heptadecanoic acid,octadecanoic acid,linoleic acid and oleic acid.

Abstract:Volatile oil was extracted from Illicium Verum Hook. f. by using steam distillation. 41 kinds of compounds were separated and identified by GC/MS, and their relative contents were determined by normalization method. Among 41 identified compounds, there are 14 hydrocarbon components and 22 oxygenated hydrocarbon derivatives, and a small amount of nitrogenous compounds. The main component is anethole, accounting for 76.23%, and the other components such as anisyl acetone, anisaldehyde, p-allylanisole, p-cumic aldehyde and p-allylpen take up more than 10%.

Abstract:The chemical components of the essential oil from Pericarpium Zanthoxyli collected from Jinan city of Shandong province and Hengshui city of Henan province were analyzed by GC-MS. 36 components from Pericarpium Zanthoxyli in Jinan city of Shandong province that composed of about 87% of the total essential oil were separated and identified. 20 components from Pericarpium Zanthoxyli in Hengshui city of Henan province that composed of about 74% of total essential oil were separated and identified.

Abstract:Chemical constituents of essential oils in Ocimum basilicum from Guangxi were analyzed by GC-MS. The essential oils of O.basilicum were extracted through steam distillation,then the constituents were separated and identified by GC-MS,and their relative contents were determined by area normalization. 54 compounds were identified,which accounted for 90.21% of essential oils. The principal chemical constituents are anisole,p-allyl-;(+)-Epi-bicyclosesquiphellandrene;1,3,6,10-Dodecatetraene,3,7,11-trimethyl-(Z,E)-. The constituents of essential oils in O.basilicum from Guangxi is very different from the other origin.

Abstract:Head Space Solid Phase Microextraction Coupled to Gas Chromatgraphy-Mass Spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS ) was used to analyze the volatile flavour components of Illicium verum Hook. f. Twenty-nine compounds were identified. These constituents represent 97.089 % of the total peak areas. Trans anethole content was 83.37% which was the most component. Other more components were limonene(3.02%), humulen(2.90%)and feniculin (2.20%).

Abstract:Objective: To analyze the chemical constituents of volatile oil from peels of Cangnan Sijiyou. Method: The chemical compositions of the volatile oil obtained by steam distillation were analyzed by GC - MS equipped with an HP -5 MS capillary column(30 m×0.25 mm×0.25 μm). The constituents were identified by their mass spec-tra. Their relative percentages were calculated with peak area normalization method. Results:Fifty -eight chemical constituents in peels of Sijiyou were separated;of which fifty - two compounds of the oil were characterized by MS with NIST. The major chemical constituents are D - limonene (47. 51% ) ,β - myrcene ( 18. 63% ) , nootkatone (14. 66% ) ,Iedol (2. 09% ) ,β - pinene (2. 03% ). Conclusion:The determination of chemical constituents of vol-atile oil from peels of Sijiyou will provide important foundation for further exploitation of Cangnan Sijiyou.

Abstract:The constituents of essential oils from the leaves and fruits of Xylocarpus granatum were analyzed by GC-MS techniques, of which 33 and 36 compounds were identified for the first time. They occupy 99.11% and 97.63% of all essential oils from the leaves and fruits resepectively. Although there were some differences among some chemical constituents due to two different parts, the main constituents of both essential oils were b-selinene and γ-selinene. The results provide some theoretical basis for the exploitation and utilization of Xylocarpus granatum.

Abstract:In order to identify natural products for plant disease control, the essential oil of star anise (Illicium verum Hook. f.) fruit was investigated for its antifungal activity on plant pathogenic fungi. The fruit essential oil obtained by hydro-distillation was analyzed for its chemical composition by gas chromatography (GC) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). trans-Anethole (89.5%), 2-(1-cyclopentenyl)-furan (0.9%) and cis-anethole (0.7%) were found to be the main components among 22 identified compounds, which accounted for 94.6% of the total oil. The antifungal activity of the oil and its main component trans-anethole against plant pathogenic fungi were determined. Both the essential oil and trans-anethole exhibited strong inhibitory effect against all test fungi indicating that most of the observed antifungal properties was due to the presence of trans-anethole in the oil, which could be developed as natural fungicides for plant disease control in fruit and vegetable preservation.

Abstract:Phytochemical studies on the fruits of Illicium verum Hook. f., also known as star anise (Magnoliaceae), resulted in the isolation of thirty-five compounds, including ten phenylpropanoids ( 1 - 10 ), eight phenolic glycosides ( 11 - 18 ), five benzoic acids ( 19 - 23 ), four flavonoids ( 24 - 27 ), four lignans ( 28 - 31 ), three organic acids ( 32 - 34 ), and one monoterpenoid ( 35 ). The structures of these metabolites were determined through NMR spectroscopy analysis and comparison with existing literature. This is the first confirmation of the presence of eight compounds ( 1 , 4 - 7 , 13 , 34 and 35 ) isolated from the family Magnoliaceae, one compound ( 11 ) from the genus Illicium , and three compounds ( 12 , 28 , 30 ) from I. verum . Furthermore, the taxonomic significance of these compounds was discussed.

Abstract:Objective:To analyze the chemical constituents of essential oils from different parts of Alpinia zerumbet (Pers.) Burtt et Smith.Methods:The essential oils were extracted by steam distillation.The chemical compounds were separated and analyzed by GC-MS,and identified by Mass Spectral Database Nist 98 and Wiley 275.L.The relative content of each component was determined by area normalization.Results:62,61,67 and 58 were separated and 58,54,50 and 53 were identified from parts of fruit,rhizoma,stem and leaf of Alpinia zerumbet,respectively.The ratios of identified compounds accounted for 99.0%,97.5%,92.8%,and 96.5% of total essential oil in different parts as well.Conclusion:There are some differences among different parts of Alpinia zerumbet.However,the mainly ingredients were unanimous.The experimental results provided evidence for general development and utilization of Alpinia zerumbet.

Abstract:Objective:To study the chemical constituents of the essential oil from the rhizomes of Bellamcanda chinensis.Method: The essential oil was extracted by supercritical carbon dioxide extraction assay(SFE-CO2),and was separated and identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometer(GC-MS).The relative content of each component was calculated by area normalization method.Result: Thirty-two compounds were identified,accounted for 93.87%.Conclusion: The major components were tetradecanoic acid,ethyl ester(17.38%),tetradecanoic acid(14.63%),hexadecanoic acid,ethyl ester(11.80%),et al.The study can provide quality control evidence and further exploitation of B.chinensis.

Abstract:To study the chemical composition of the essential oil from A.carmichaeli,the essential oil was extracted by the hydrodistillation,the chemical constituents were analyzed by GC-MS,and the relative percentage content of each volatilizable compound was established by the peak area normalization method.The results showed that 37 compounds from the acrial part and 32 compounds from the roots of A.carmichaeli were identified respectively,accounting for 75.82% and 43.31% of all essential oil from the acrial part and root respectively.The terpenes and their derivatives are the major chemical constituents in the essential oil,such as phytol,isophytol,farnesol and geranyl acetone.Besides,fatty acids and their esters are also abundant,including linoleic acid,methy linoleate and so on.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE Essential oil from root of Angelica dahurica cv. Qibaizhi were studied. METHOD Essential oil was extracted by water-steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS. RESULT Two hundreds and ninety chromatographic peaks were detected, among which 111 compounds have been identified. The contents of them made up 90.61% of the total essential oil. CONCLUSION The main compounds in the essential oil were 3-carene (12.70%), beta-elemene (6.20%), beta-terpinene (3.53%), beta-myrcene (1.97%), gamma-elemene (1.82%), beta-phellandrene (1.65%), and beta-maaliene (1.61%), et al. In addition, suberosin (0.16%), a coumarins compound, was also determined.

Abstract: Objective: To Analyz the components of the essential oils extracted from the radix of Heracleum hemsleyanum Diels. Method: The essential oils were extracted by water-steam distillation and separated by capillary columns gas chromatography. The components were determined with area normalization method, and were identi- fied by GC-MS. Result: Fifty-three constituents were identified. Conclusion: The main components are (1S)-6,6- dimethyl-2-methylenebicyclo 3.1.1heptane (12.60%), 8-isopropenyl-1,5-dimethyl-cyclodeca-1,5 -diene (10.42%), spathulenol (7.63%), octanal (7.35%), and 3-methylnonane (4.28%). The essential oil has a lot of differences from other varieties Duhuo.

Abstract:The physical properties and chemical components of three oil samples extracted from Illicium verum Hook. f. by steam distillation (SD), solvent extraction (SE) and supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) were compared with one another and analyzed by Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS). The quality parameters of star anise essential oil from SFE were close to that of those came from SD and SE. Although the extraction yield of star anise by SFE (9.2 %) was close to the value from SE (9.3%), it was yet higher than that came from SD (8.2%). For sensory evaluation, however, three oils were significantly different. The odor and taste of the products from SFE and SE were generally more natural and vivid than that came from distilled oil. The volatile compound revealed that significant differences of the composition existed in the distilled oil and the oleoresins prepared by SFE and SE.

Abstract:Objective:To study the chemical components of volatile oil from the root of Angelica dahurica Benth.et Hook.f.ex Franch.et Sav.(Xing′anbaizhi)and compare the components difference of volatile oil with that of A.dahurica var.dahurica cv.Qibaizhi(Qibaizhi).Methods:The volatile oil was extracted by water-steam distillation and analyzed by GC-MS with capillary gas chromatographic column.Results:Two hundred forty-four chromatographic peaks were detected,among which 76 compounds have been identified.The contents of them made up 86.13% of the total volatile oil of Xing′anbaizhi.The main components in the volatile oil of Xing′anbaizhi were tetradecanol(19.43%),α-limonene(15.25%),3-carene(10.94%),1-dodecanol(5.74%)and 1R-α-pinene(3.85%).Conclusion:The two species contained 38 common components,which amounted 34.54% of the total volatile oil of Xing′anbaizhi.The contents of sesquiterpenes and their derivates in Xing′anbaizhi were lower than that of Qibaizhi.
