Abstract:In this note, we consider the following nonlinear difference equation:x(n-1) = f(x(n-r1), . . . , x(n-rk)) g (x(n-m1), . . . , x(n-m1)) + h(x(n-p1), . . . , x(n-ps) + 1/f(x(n-r1), . . . , x(n-rk)) + g(x(n-m1), . . . , x(n-m1)) + h(x(n-p1), . . . , x(n-ps)), n = 0, 1, . . . , where f is an element of C((0, + infinity)(k), (0, + infinity)), g is an element of C((0, +infinity)) and h is an element of C((0, + infinity)(s), [0, + infinity)) with k, l, s is an element of {1, 2, . . .}, 0 <= r(1) < center dot center dot center dot < r(k), 0 <= m(1) and 0 <= p(1) < center dot center dot center dot < p(s), and the initial values are positive. We give sufficient conditions under which the unique equilibrium (x) over bar = 1 of this equation is globally asymptotically stable, which extends and includes corresponding results obtained in the cited references.
