Abstract:The problem of robust stabilizing a class of time-varying time-delay uncertain nonlinear systems is studied in this paper. The systems under consideration are nonlinear systems consisting of feedback linearizable nominal parts and norm-bounded nonlinear uncertain perturbations in states, time-varying time-delay states and control inputs. A sufficient condition for the robust stabilization of such systems is derived, then the sufficient condition is transformed into a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) problem. A robust controller, combining feedback linearization technique and quadratic stabilization via linear feedback, is developed such that the obtained closed-loop system is globally stable.

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization for a class of uncertain networked control systems (NCSs) with nonlinearities satisfying a given sector condition is investigated in this paper. By introducing a new model of NCSs with parameter uncertainty, network-induced delay, nonlinearity and data packet dropout in the transmission, a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) criterion is proposed for robust stabilization of the uncertain nonlinear NCSs based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The maximum allowable transfer interval (MATI) can be derived by solving the feasibility problem of the corresponding LMI. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:The problem of robust control for discrete time-delay systems with norm-bounded uncertainties was studied. A new sufficient condition of delay-dependent robust stabilizability was derived by introducing a zero formula and free weighting matrices. An explicit expression of the desired controller was also developed based on the solution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Without any system transformation or inequalities to estimate the upper bound of the cross terms in the forward difference of Lyapunov functional, the corresponding conservatism on the stability condition is reduced. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of design procedure.

Abstract:Combining the adaptive Backstepping with the sliding mode control, we present a robust adaptive controller for a class of MIMO uncertain nonlinear systems. The model contains three forms of model uncertainty: 1) parametric uncertainty; 2) uncertainty in the input gains; 3) bounded uncertain functions which represent unmodelled dynamics and disturbances. The results of numerical simulation for the output tracking control of nonholonomic mobile manipulators are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization for parametric uncertain hybrid systems with multiple equilibria was considered. Piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions were applied to derive the sufficient conditions for hybrid state feedback robust stabilization. The proposed design of hybrid state feedback robust stabilization controllers is formulated as a convex problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved by relevant software.Controllability of the continuous time subsystems is not required since the controller design consists of discrete event dynamics design and continuous time dynamics design. The applicability of this design approach is shown a successfal simulation example.

Abstract:This paper focuses on robust stabilization analysis and synthesis for linear time-varying uncertain dynamic systems with delayed state. A dynamic output feedback controller is presented to quadratically stabilize the plant for all admissible uncertainties and the sufficient conditions for the existence of output feedback robust stabilizing controller are derived. Two equivalent linear time-invariant structural descriptions for the time-varying uncertain systems with delayed state are obtained to get the controller gain matrix and the observer gain matrix.

Abstract:In this paper, a continuous feedback tracking controller is developed for a class of high-order multi-input multi-output (MIMO) nonlinear systems with an input gain matrix that has nonzero leading principal minors but can be nonsymmetric. Under the mild assumption that the signs of the leading minors of the control input gain matrix are known, the controller yields locally uniformly ultimately bounded (UUB) tracking while compensating for unstructured uncertainty in both the drift vector and the input matrix. First, a full-state feedback controller is designed based on limited assumptions on the structure of the system nonlinearities, and the singularity-free controller is proven to yield locally UUB tracking through a Lyapunov-based analysis. Then, it is shown that an output feedback control can be designed based on a high-gain observer. Simulation results are provided to illustrate the performance of the proposed control algorithm.

Abstract:The problem of global robust stabilization is investigated for a class of multi-input, minimum-phase nonlinear systems with unknown time-varying parameters or disturbances belonging to a given compact set. It is assumed that the systems admit a special structure, which is much more general than strict feedback form. Abstract:A new control design method based on signal compensation is proposed for a class of uncertain multi-input multioutput (MIMO) nonlinear systems in block-triangular form with nonlinear uncertainties, external disturbances, unknown virtual control coefficients and strongly coupled interconnections. By this method, the controller design is performed in a backstepping manner. At each step of backstepping procedure, a nominal virtual controller is first designed to get desired output tracking for the nominal disturbance-free subsystem, and then a robust virtual compensator is designed to restrain the effect of the uncertainty, disturbance involved in the subsystem and couplings among the subsystems. It is proved that global robust stability and global robust practical tracking property of the closed-loop system can be ensured and the tracking errors can be made as small as desired. The trait of our approach is that the designed controller is linear and time-invariant, so the explosion of terms in the control law is avoid.

Abstract:For a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with time-delays in both state and control input, when in the linear part of the plant, the uncertainties are unknown but norm-bounded, and the uncertainties in the nonlinear part satisfy the so-called matching condition, this paper deals with the robust stabilization problem. The sufficient conditions for the systems under consideration to be stabilizable via state feedback or output feedback are given in terms of Riccati inequality, in the sense of global exponential stability. And we show that the controller can be designed by a simple procedure so long as obtaining the solutions of the corresponding inequalities.

Abstract:In this paper, an adaptive feedback control is designed for a class of MIMO nonlinear systems containing parametric uncertainty in both the drift vector and the input gain matrix, which is assumed to be full-rank and non-symmetric in general. Based on an SDU decomposition of the gain matrix, a singularity-free adaptive tracking control law is proposed that is shown to be globally asymptotically stable (GAS) under full-state feedback. Output feedback results are facilitated via the use of a high-gain observer (HGO). Under output feedback control, ultimate boundedness of the error signals is obtained - the size of the bound is related to the size of the uncertainty in the parameters. An explicit upper bound is also provided on the size of the HGO gain constant.

Abstract:In this work, we propose the design and analysis of a novel continuous robust controller for a class of multi--input multi--output (MIMO) nonlinear uncertain systems. The systems under consideration contains unstructured uncertainties in their drift and input matrices. The proposed controller compensates the overall system uncertainties and achieves asymptotic tracking where only the sign of the leading minors of the input gain matrix is assumed to be known. A Lyapunov based argument backed up with an integral inequality is applied to prove stability of the proposed controller and asymptotic convergence of the error signals. Simulation results are presented in order to illustrate the viability of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper presents a robust adaptive control scheme for a class of multi-input multi-output (MIMO) uncertain nonlinear systems. Multiple multi-layer neural networks are used to compensate for the model uncertainty. The on-line updating rules of the neural networks parameters are obtained by Lyapunov stability theory. All signals in the closed-loop system are bounded. The output tracking error converges to a small neighborhood of zero, while the stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed. Finally the effectiveness of the control scheme is verified by a simulation of two-link manipulator.

Abstract:In this paper we present a robust adaptive control for a class of uncertain continuous time multiple input multiple output （MIMO） nonlinear systems. Multiple multi-layer neural networks are employed to approximate the uncertainty of the nonlinear functions, and robustifying control terms are used to compensate for approximation errors. All parameter adaptive laws and robustifying control terms are derived based on Lyapunov stability analysis so that, under appropriate assumptions, semi-global stability of the closed-loop system is guaranteed, and the tracking error asymptotically converges to zero. Simulations performed on a two-link robot manipulator illustrate the approach and its performance.

Abstract:Using linear matrix inequality approach, this paper deals with a class of uncertain dynamic systems. The class of systems under consideration is described by a continuous-time uncertain model with multiple time-varying delays in both states and controls. The uncertainties are unknown but norm-bounded. A sufficient condition for a class of uncertain delay system to be stabilizable is obtaincd. It is shown that the construction of the stabilizing controller involves solving several linear matrix in-qualities. Finally, an example is given both to illustrate the proposed approach's effectiveness and to show the proposed approach's advantages over Riccati equation approach.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to provide a method for (semi-global) asymptotic stabilization of a nonlinear minimum-phase MIMO system, under a mild hypothesis of the so-called “high-frequency gain” matrix. This result is based on a non-trivial extension, to the MIMO setting, of the approach based on the use of extended observers. As a byproduct, a dynamic output feedback control is obtained, that asymptotically stabilizes the equilibrium of the closed-loop system, in spite of uncertainties in the high-frequency gain matrix.

Abstract:The robust stabilization problem for uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems is addressed in this paper. In terms of strict linear matrix inequality and a finite Sum inequality, a delay-dependent criterion for the nominal systems to be admissible is obtained. Based on the criterion, a state feedback controller, which guarantees that, for all admissible uncertainties, the resulting closed-loop system is regular, causal and stable, is constructed. An explicit expression for the desired controller is also given. The obtained results include both delay-independent and delay-dependent cases.
