Abstract:PXI directly integrates PC technology with traditional instrument capabilities to result in broader measurement and automation capabilities. A high-performance digital I/O module based on PXI bus is introduced in this paper The PXI digital I/O module is a high-performance module for communication between PXI bus test system and peripheral equipments in the field of data domain test. Compared with a typical PXI digital I/O module, a special handshake work mode is added and 32-bit FIFO memory is implemented with two 16-bit SRAM chips in the module. Furthermore, the whole I/O function circuit is implemented in FPGA with Verilog HDL.

Abstract:This paper developed the design of five and a half digital multimeter module based on PXI Interface.The module takes the ES51966 as a core,and ARM(LPC2103)as a controller for the high-precision measurement of electrical parameters and the processing of measurement data.This module also achieve the communication with the host computer through PXI interface which uses PCI9054 chip.This article mainly focuses on the circuit of hardware,the process of software designing and achievement of the internal interface-converting circuit in FPGA.Finally it analyses the actual measure results in different mode,and proposes improved methods.

Abstract:In this paper, combining with the development situation of virtual oscilloscope instrument and the market demand for high-performance modular instruments, the PXI oscilloscope module is developed. It simply introduces the working principle of hardware, and then detailed description of the development and the realization of hardware driver and API using VC++ 6.0 and LabWindows/CVI. The test results indicate that the oscilloscope module not only implemented the traditional oscilloscope functions but also improved the performance of data processing and display, and that the driver implements the equipment control and operation and completed the data acquisition, parameter measurement, waveform analysis, waveform display and other functions. So it can meet the user’s oscilloscope basic functions and high-speed signal acquisition and processing requirments.

Abstract:The data acquisition system is one of the most important parts in an auto-test system. It can convert the analog signal to the digital signal and send the digital signal to the computer, after the computer operation, we can get the parameters of the signals. At present, the data collection technology has gained broader application. Nowadays, the universal high-speed data acquisition card commonly adopts PCI or ISA card. The PCI cards and the ISA cards have the shortcomings as follows: poor expansibility; difficult to install; unable to make electromagnetism shield in some strong electromagnetism circumstance. The PXI bus is the PCI extensions for Instrumentation. It has incomparable advantages in measuring speed and precision. At last, we test several ordnance equipments with this system. The system has the functions of signal acquisition, data processing, storage and graphics display. It also has the advantages of real-time acquisition, higher automatization, powerful data processing ability and easy function expandable ability.

Abstract:1553B bus has been widely applied as its high reliability,anti-jamming and flexible expansion ability. In order to test the electronic equipment and electric system with 1553B interface,we usually have to equip the 1553B interface module in the test system. This paper introduces a design of PXI-1553B module based on FPGA. The module can be used in the communication between PXI bus test system and 1553B equipment,to carry out the test of equipment with 1553B interface. Both PXI bus interface and the protocol control of 1553B are implemented in a FPGA chip with Verilog HDL. The hardware structure of the module is simple,and with high integration and reliability. The experiment result shows that PXI-1553B module can complete the data communication with high reliability.

Abstract:AXIe is a new standard for test and measurement. It provides an open, high-performance platform for instrument module. In order to reduce the complexity of developing AXIe instrument module, the authors designed an interface component by taking a FPGA as core controller. The component implements an AXIe interface and two High Speed Mezzanine Card (HSMC) interfaces which are used to connect different functional modules. The Qsys tool is introduced into logic design to present a series of interface subsystems aiming at various applications. Using the suite, designers could skip the AXIe interface design and focus on the design of module's function. In addition, designers can also take advantage of the commercial off-the-shelf(COTS) HSMC modules, which will be help establishing an automatic test system rapidly.

Abstract:The waveform digitization is more and more popular for readout electronics in the particle and nuclear physics experiment. A data acquisition module for waveform digitization is investigated in this paper. The module is designed on a 3U PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) shelf, which can manage the measurement of two channels of waveform digitization for detector signals. It is equipped with a two channels analog to digital converter (ADC) of 12 bits resolution and up to 1.8 G samples per second (SPS) sampling rate, and a filed programming gate array (FPGA) for controlling and data buffering. Meanwhile, a complex programmable logic device (CPLD) is employed to implement the PXI interface communication via PXI Bus. The performance of this module was tested. The results show that it can be successfully used in particle and nuclear physics experiments.

Abstract:The VXIbus instrument memory module designed by this paper is a single-slot, C size message-based module, it supplies up to 1GB space and three communication modes. Data stored in memory module can be sent to computer and processed. This module supplies data protection function, and guarantees that data will not lose when power off.This paper introduces the design of software and hardware of the VXIbus memory module. The message-based interface with master ability, interrupter ability and A24 access mode is designed by CPLD; Local bus interface is designed, interface timing is defined, and high speed local communication is realized; Based on the comparison of several memories, SDRAM is selected, and the SDRAM controller is designed by CPLD; The VXIbus shared memory communication protocol is researched, hardware and DSP's program sustaining this protocol are designed, and shared memory communication mode is realized, DSP's program sustaining three communication modes is write, and data stored in memory is managed in file format; The instrument driver and soft panel according VPP specifications are designed by use of LabWindows/CVI.As can be seen from actual test, the memory module is designed in reason and satisfies all the performance.

Abstract:A data acquisition and processing module for the electron momentum spectrometer is investigated. The module is based on PXI (PCI eXtensions for Instrumentation) Bus, which can manage the measurement of one way of time messages with the resolution of 53 ps (Pico second) and the measurement of eight ways of position messages with the resolution of 1/2000. With the need of the physics experiment, the module can be used for both single channel calibration experiment and coincidence measurement experiment. And it can acquire and process the data for either one-dimension or two-dimension position sensitive detector. All of the data will be transmitted by PXI Bus. After the experiment with the third generation (e, 2e) electron momentum spectrometer, the test results show that the module attains the designed characteristics and the performance of it is much better than it was expected.

Abstract:PXI Express is a high data bandwidth bus and it can provide high speed differential clocks and trigger signals.In order to reduce the complexity of the design,in this paper,the selected scheme adopts high performance FPGA with embedded PCI Express hard IP core to achieve the design of PCI Express interface.The Qsys design flow is introduced into FPGA logic design to present a series of interfacing logic subsystems aiming at various applications and all related IP cores.At last,a test platform is set up and the test result shows that the whole design is functional.

Abstract:In order to meet the requirements of distributed measuring, a parallel data acquisition system based on LXI standard is designed. This paper introduces the core control architecture of ARM+FPGA and modularization design plan. The hardware circuit includes the LXI interface module and functional module. Implementation of LXI interface based on ARM and Linux with completed network protocol and multiple task management system which is mainly to complete network communication function. The function module achieves control of data acquisition and memory data dumps based on FPGA. Then paper introduces the design of software based on LXI software architecture, including IVI-COM driver and ARM server program. Through the actual testing experiment, proves the rationality of the design and meets the requirements of design index.

Abstract:The test and excitation signals for different types and characteristics in industrial test field are tested by general automatic test equipment.By changing different signal boards,various signals can be tested and stimulated.In order to realize the common interface between PXI bus and local bus,a test board based on FPGA is designed,which can form a general design template of PXI test board.Finally,based on the design idea of discrete board and communication board,the universal design method has the characteristics of high portability and easy hardware reuse,which can greatly reduce the design strength and difficulty.

Abstract:Based on PXI Express bus protocol and PXI Express hardware specification, PXI Express embedded controller is designed in this paper. MPC8536 is taken as a processor in the overall hardware program. FPGA and PXI Express Switch are taken to design PXI Express interface. Cut and customed VxWorks OS is taken in the software program. U-boot ensure normal operation of the embedded controller. BSP boot the VxWorks OS to complete the normal start up, then check the function of each part. Finally, a test platform of AD data acquisition module is built to verify the design.

Abstract:In this paper, a general method of data transmission system design on PXI platform is proposed. It can be used in readout system design for physical experiments. It aims at providing reusable and general interfaces for customized design of PXI while maintaining the transmission performance. It has three main features: (1)universal logic hardware interface, (2)ethernet based socket software interface, and (3)specific and simple data transmission protocol. Data transmission on PXI bus can be realized with the said two universal interfaces coordinated by this specific protocol. Test shows that this method is feasible and stable. This method can be easily reused in readout system designs for different experiments.

Abstract:This paper develops a high-speed data acquisition card based on PXI Express Bus, with 1.5GSa/s dual-channel sampling rate and 3GSa/s single-channel sampling rate, 8-bit of resolution, and 1GB of high-speed data cache. In the paper, an overall scheme of the system is presented, ADC08D1520 is utilized to realize the acquisition of dual channel/single channel signal, DDR2 SDRAM is used as the large-capacity data buffer, and PCI Express Endpoint Block is adopted to realize the protocol of the PCI Express Bus. The paper also proposes two data transmission schemes based on PCI Express Endpoint Block to improve the efficiency of data transmission. One is DMA engine, another is Peer-to-Peer Engine. The PXI Express driver which supports the DMA and interrupt is developed by NI-VISA. At last, the performance testing of the card is presented. The testing results show that this computer-based high-speed card offers an outstanding combination of high bandwidth (up to 800MHz) and dynamic range, which enables demanding measurements such as IF sampling of wide band signals.
