Abstract:3D shape optimization algorithm is presented for the electromagnetic devices carrying eddy current. The formulae for the design sensitivity and the adjoint variable are derived in complex form in terms of 3D finite element method for eddy current problems. The proposed 3D mesh regeneration method based on the structural deformation analysis is problem independent and sufficient to obtain a smooth contour with proper mesh quality. The algorithm integrates 3D finite element performance analysis, steepest descent method with design sensitivity and mesh relocation method. Numerical applications to the shape optimum design of shielding plates show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm and optimal design system.
Analysis of thermal spreading resistance in high power LED package and its design optimization

Abstract:Thermal spreading resistance has a great influence on thermal resistance of LED chip especially in flip chip, and there exists a need for a thermal design optimization of LED package. In this paper, we analyze thermal spreading effect in both flip chip and face-up chip, and get a thermal design optimization of LED package. Firstly, thermal spreading resistance is calculated, and then thermal simulation is done using finite element method. Influencing factors in thermal spreading are analyzed by these two methods and the results are matched quite well. An optimal thickness of heat sink is found, and the minimal thermal resistance of heat sink is attained in this thickness value. The optimal thickness decreases after increasing area of heat source. In flipchip LED, thermal resistance decreases after increasing area of Au bumps and the thickness of PN junction available at the present technology. At the same Au usage, reduce the area of each bump and increase the number of bumps could effectively decrease thermal resistance of PN junction and have good temperature evenness. It is important to consider thermal spreading effect in LED packaging.

Abstract:The surface precision and the structure of the panel will affect the image quality of the telescope system. According to different types of large telescopes,A new type of porous structure of focal plane is proposed,the issue of the miniaturization of fiber units and the change of the displacement and stress is resolved. In the end,the modeling and simulation by ANSYS is made,the results show that the new structure can guarantee the surface accuracy of focal plane and can improve the collection efficiency of the spect-rum.

Abstract:An optimization method is proposed for designing an LED freeform lens which produces a uniform circular pattern with high energy efficiency. The results of design examples show that the irradiance distribution is well controlled with excellent uniformity and energy efficiency. This optimization method can be generalized to design freeform lenses with different lighting patterns or without rotational symmetry.

Abstract:An adaptive optimization in rendering process for multi‐projection‐type light field display is proposed. The optimization smoothed the scene that away from the screen to reduce the distortion, without affecting the scene that near the screen. Comparison shows that the optimization enhanced the overall display quality of the scene.

Abstract:A scalable system to achieve large-sized light field three-dimensional display using multi-projectors and directional diffuser is presented. The system mainly employs an array of mini-projectors projecting images onto a special cylindrical directional diffuser screen. The principle of light field reconstruction, configuration of multi-projectors style, and characteristics of directional diffuser are explicitly analyzed, respectively. A prototype of a piece of equipment in mini-cinema class is proposed, with 100 mini-projectors and a special cylindrical directional diffuser performing different diffuse angles in horizontal and vertical directions. Bright and large-sized three-dimensional images displayed by the system can be observed at different horizontal viewing positions around the cylindrical display area with stereo parallax and motion parallax. Abstract:Understanding the influence of the interaction of emitters on the field emission performance of a field emitter array is of great importance for the design of a multi-emitter device. In this work, a screening factor S is defined to quantify the effect of electric field screening due to the interaction of emitters in an array. A three-dimensional finite integration technique is used to study the electric field screening effect for Spindt-type field emitter arrays which have potential applications in flatscreen displays and high-power vacuum electronics. The dependences of the electric field screening on the tip-to-tip spacing, half-angle of the emitter, height of the emitter and radius of the tip's curvature are analyzed. The effects of the variations in the size of the emitter's geometry on the most efficient arrangement to achieve maximum emission efficiency in an array are discussed.

Abstract:The LAMOST focus plate and its support structure were simulated by the finite element method to determine their primary design parameters.Optimal parameters were obtained,which fulfilled the technical precision demands of the LAMOST optical fiber positioning system very well.Considering that the LAMOST focal plate is near a flat one,the plane model was used to approximate the focal plate and the large scale FEM package ANSYS was used to optimize the design parameters.Furthermore,the optimal parameters were substituted into the more realistic shell model and it was found that the deformation of focal plate met technical precision demands very well.At last,the vibration modes were calculated and the basic frequency was also to have well met the technical demand.

Abstract:The three-dimensional (3D) light field fusion display system based on flat panel light field display (LFD) can effectively expand the depth of field (DOF) of the LFD. However, its viewing angle is narrow, which makes it difficult to reconstruct more comprehensive information of the 3D scene. In addition, the crosstalk caused by the aberration of the light control element used in the system causes aliasing in the images perceived by the viewer, reducing the quality of the 3D images. In order to achieve a high-quality 3D light field fusion display system with a large viewing angle and DOF, the calculation method of voxel size and the influence of aberration of light control element on DOF are analyzed in this paper. Based on the above analysis, the optical parameters and structure of the light control element have been redesigned, and the aspherical symmetric compound lens has been proposed and optimized for its optical characteristics using a reverse optical path scheme. A new generation of 3D light field fusion display system using optimized aspherical symmetric compound lens has been constructed and optical verification experiments have been conducted. The optical experimental results of the enlarged comparison image of the details and the comparison image of the entire viewpoint image show that the display effect of the system using optimized aspherical symmetric compound lens has improved significantly in terms of clarity and color performance compared to before. The viewing angle of the system has increased from 50° to 80°, which verifies the correctness and reliability of the DOF analysis method and the new structure of the light control element.

Abstract:An optimization methodology is put forward for the design of gridded electron gun, which pays special attention to the spacings among cathode, shadow grid and control grid. The optimization is carried out on the basis of Microwave Tube Simulator Suite MTSS and multi-physics simulation software ANSYS. Using this optimization method, the electric performance of the designed gridded electron gun under working condition has minor changes compared to the simulation results. Using the designed spacings among cathode and the grids as mounting dimensions, the unexpected contact among cathode and the grids due to thermal deformation has less possibility to occur.

Abstract:An optimization method for the design of an illumination system with a single freeform lens for CF-LCoS handheld pico-projectors is proposed in this paper. Based on the Snell's law and the energy conservation law, the front and back freeform surfaces of the initial lens are calculated numerically by solving the corresponding first-order partial differential equations. Being different from other designs, the solution method assigns the light deflection angle of the two freeform surfaces, by which small-angle incidence on LCoS is guaranteed, and the freeform lens can also be reasonably controlled to avoid unmanageable surfaces in injection-molding process. To improve the spatial uniformity, the optimal surfaces are searched by using simplex algorithm for an extended LED system. The design example shows that a single 2mm×2mm LED chip powered illumination system, which employs a CF-LCOS panel with a diagonal of 0.59-in and an aspect ratio of 4:3, satisfies the needs of the optical engine for handheld pico-projector, which has a transmission efficiency about 55% and an ANSI 9-point uniformity over 95%, with the whole optical engine volume 60mm×28mm×16mm. The design method could not only achieve collimating and uniform illumination, but also show the great prospect in application on other specific light conditions.

Abstract:Supporting Structure is a crucial part of large antenna system in fulfilling stiffness,strength and accuracy requirements.Topology optimization method based on SIMP(Solid Isotropic Material with Penalization) is an effective approach to determine optimal material layout under given constraint and objective function;it also gives practical guidance in designing the layout of sheets inside supporting structure.Aiming at problems of overweight and stress concentration in original design,a topology optimization problem is built whose design domain is the internal space of supporting structure,whose constraint is the maximum permissible displacement in Y direction and whose objective is to minimize the mass of supporting structure.Based on the result of computation and load pass of antenna system,a new design of sheet layout is given and based on the new design a size optimization approach is used in determine the specific dimensions of external shell and internal sheet of supporting structure.The result of numerical test shows that the news design reduces 12.5% mass compared with original design and also eliminates stress concentration.

Abstract:Aiming at the problem that the side mounting plate and the connecting plate of the swing arm type polar plate suction device in the upper plate mechanism of the battery pack machine are thick, Solidworks is used to optimize the structure of the upper plate mechanism, and Ansys finite element analysis software is used to carry out multi-objective optimization on the optimized side mounting plate and the connecting plate. The results show that adding two chamfers to the side mounting and adding a round corner to the corner of the connecting plate not only effectively reduces the weight and maximum equivalent stress of the plate suction device and solves the problem of stress concentration, but also obviously improves the working precision and production efficiency of the lead-acid battery pack machine.

Abstract:An optimizing design method for chassis structure of electronic equipment is disclosed, which includes: investigating from the point of view of mechanical, electric and thermal three-fields coupling, determining the initial design size of the chassis, mechanical analyzing by using the software Ansys; converting the grid model among the three-fields, obtaining the grid model used for the electromagnetic and thermal analysis; setting the thermal analysis parameter, thermal analyzing by using the software IcePak; determining the resonance frequency of the chassis and the electric parameter of the absorbing materials, electromagnetic analyzing by using the software FeKo; amending the analysis result by sample testing; judging whether the chassis satisfies the design requirement, if it satisfies the requirement, the optimizing design will be finished, otherwise, amending the initial CAD model, electromagnetic analysis parameter and thermal analysis parameter, repeating the above processes until the requirement is satisfied.

Abstract:Established the parametric finite element model of HFZS1640 vibrating screen body structure by the ANSYS software.Acquired the dynamic stress distribution of vibrating screen in the state of working by harmonic response analysis. For improving vibrating screen body structure strength,the calculation considered the each thickness which constitute vibrating screen body as design considered,considered the dynamic stress as state considered,took the total mass as the objective function.This optimization problem was solved using zero method.The result showed that after optimize the vibrating screen strength is satisfied and the stress distribution more even.

The device parameters such as geometric parameters of the nanowire, distance between gate electrode and cathode, the cathode to anode distance were simulated. Abstract:In order to solve the design requirements of high stiffness and lightweight for the primary support structure of a wide-field auroral imager, we propose a solution for designing and optimizing a large-scale complex thin-walled structure using additive manufacturing. Firstly, we devise an integrated thin-walled structure and test material for the main support. Secondly, shape optimization is achieved via the optimization of the lateral slope angle of the primary support based on Timoshenko cantilever beam theory. Additionally, an active fitting optimization algorithm is proposed for the purpose of refining the wall thickness of the thin-walled structure. Then, we determine the structural design of the main support. This primary support is manufactured via selective laser melting (SLM). Following processing, the structure size is 538 mm √ó 400 mm √ó 384 mm, and the mass is 7.78 kg. Finally, frequency scanning experiments indicate that, in the horizontal direction, there is a natural frequency of 105.97 Hz with an error rate of approximately 3% compared to finite element analysis results. This research confirms that our large-scale complex, thin-walled main support structure design meets all design requirements.

Abstract:The field emission properties of a planar-gated cupric oxide (CuO) nanowire field emitters arrays for emission display (FED) application have been optimized. To protect the cathode electrode from oxidation, Al thin film is introduced on the Cr electrode. Furthermore, a selective wet etching process to remove the Al layer is used before the cathode preparation in order to improve the back-contact of CuO nanowire field emitters. The results show that the field emission properties including uniformity and maximum current of the CuO nanowires in the gated device structure were dramatically improved.
