Abstract:The problem of robust stabilizing a class of time-varying time-delay uncertain nonlinear systems is studied in this paper. The systems under consideration are nonlinear systems consisting of feedback linearizable nominal parts and norm-bounded nonlinear uncertain perturbations in states, time-varying time-delay states and control inputs. A sufficient condition for the robust stabilization of such systems is derived, then the sufficient condition is transformed into a Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) problem. A robust controller, combining feedback linearization technique and quadratic stabilization via linear feedback, is developed such that the obtained closed-loop system is globally stable.

Abstract:The robust stabilization problem for a class of uncertain linear time-delay systems containing sector saturating actuator is considered in this paper. The uncertain time-delay systems under consideration are described by state differential equations with time-varying unknown-but-bounded uncertain parameters and delayed state. The delay is assumed to be constant bounded but unknown. The new criterion of delay-dependent robust stabilizability for uncertain time-delay systems is presented and the corresponding robust memoryless state feedback controller is derived in terms of the solutions of several linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical example is presented to illustrate the obtained results.

Abstract:The robustness of feedback stabilization for quasi non-integrable Hamiltonian systems with uncertain parameters is investigated. The uncertain parameters are modeled as bounded random variables with lambda-probability density function. Based on the independence of uncertain parameters and stochastic excitations, a feedback control to asymptotically stabilize, with probability one, the nominal system (with average parameter values) is firstly obtained by applying the stochastic averaging method, the expression for the Lyapunov exponent of quasi non-integrable Hamiltonian systems and the stochastic dynamical programming principle. Then, the mean and standard deviations of the Lyapunov exponent of the uncertain quasi non-integrable Hamiltonian system are calculated by using the stochastic averaging method and probabilistic analysis. Finally, the robustness of the feedback stabilization for quasi non-integrable Hamiltonian systems with parametric uncertainty is evaluated in terms of the sensitivity of the variation coefficient of the Lyapunov exponent of a controlled system to the variation coefficients of uncertain parameters. An example is worked out to illustrate the robustness of the feedback stabilization.

Abstract:In the paper, the robust LQG problem for the discrete-time stochastic linear system with uncertain noise is considered. The perturbation upper bounds on uncertain noise covariances that guarantee control performance are obtained, and the design method of minimax robust LQG regulator is also given in the perturbation upper bounds. In particular, it is shown that this regulator can minimize the worst performance in uncertain-case and guarantee control performance index to he within a given freedom.

Abstract:This paper studies the robust output regulation problem of general linear continuous-time systems with periodically sampled measurements, consisting of both the regulation errors and the extra measurements. With some standard conditions, we propose a novel robust implementable regulator design paradigm, that is comprised of a generalized zero-order hold device, a discrete-time compensator, a discrete-time washout filter and a discrete-time stabilizer.

Abstract:This paper considers the robust output regulation problem for a class of nonlinear systems, not detectable by the regulated output. Differently from the previous results on the subject, it is supposed that the considered class of systems is in the normal form not defined on the conventional regulated output. We propose a novel internal model structure that, joined to a high-gain stabilizing action, solves the output regulation problem robustly with respect to possible uncertainties affecting the systems.

Abstract:The problem of robust stability for LQ guaranteed cost control ofstructured and unstructured uncertain linear systems is considered. First of all, some definitions about the problem are proposed. Then, robustness bounds for LQ guaranteed cost control systems with unstructured and a kind of structured uncertainties are derived. Furthermore, for structured uncertain systems, an algorithm to optimize the robustness bounds by choosing appropriate parameters as well as the relevant design technique are presented in the paper. Additional, a robustness analysis procedure of LQ guaranteed cost control systems for structured uncertainties is established. An example is given to illustrate the proposed methods.

Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of stability analysis and disturbance rejection for uncertain discrete-time systems in the presence of actuator saturation and exogenous disturbance. A newly defined saturation-dependent Lyapunov function is used to estimate the domain of attraction, and a constrained LMI optimization problem is formulated. Algorithms are developed to estimate the maximal norm of the exogenous disturbance that can be tolerated by systems. Abstract:In this paper, the problems of robust stability and stabilization are investigated for a class of continuous-time uncertain systems. The uncertainties in the model are state-dependent and belong to a polytopic convex set, as can be found in many electronic circuits and some other applications. The global asymptotic stability conditions for such systems are first established by the classic common quadratic Lyapunov function approach. To reduce conservativeness, a particular class of nonquadratic parameter-dependent Lyapunov functions is introduced, by which improved robust stability conditions for the underlying systems are also derived. Based on the stability criteria, a static output feedback controller is then designed for the system. The effectiveness of the proposed approaches is illustrated by a numerical example, and the applicability of our theoretical findings is simultaneously demonstrated by modeling, analysis, and control design for a class of electronic circuits.

Abstract:The problem of a jump linear-quadratic-Gaussian (JLQG) control of continuous-time Markov jump systems with uncertain second-order statistical properties is considered. Uncertainty is modeled by allowing process and observation noise spectral density matrices to vary arbitrarily within given classes. The upper bounds of the perturbation to the noise covariances matrix are given based on the guaranteed control performance, and a robust minimax JLQG regulator is therefore adopted under the worst conditions. Not only can this method minimizes the worst quadratic object performance function of the uncertainty, but the control performance index can be guaranteed to be within a given freedom. Abstract:This note deals with the robust output regulation problem for a class of nonlinear systems with dynamic uncertainties. The design procedure is mainly divided into two parts. Firstly, the internal model part is proposed to extend system equations and convert the robust output regulation to robust stabilization problem. Then, the combined backstepping and small-gain approach is introduced to tackle with the corresponding unknown nonlinearities and dynamic uncertainties. It has been demonstrated that the proposed controller regulates the error signal to zero while maintaining overall signals uniform boundness.

Abstract:The robust exponential stability in mean square for a class of linear stochastic uncertain control systems is dealt with. For the uncertain stochastic systems, we have designed an optimal controller which guarantees the exponential stability of the system. Actually, we employed Lyapunov function approach and the stochastic algebraic Riccati equation (SARE) to have shown the robustness of the linear quadratic(LQ) optimal control law. And the algebraic criteria for the exponential stability on the linear stochastic uncertain closed-loop systems are given.

Abstract:The robust LQ optimal regulator problem for discrete-time uncertain singular Markov jump systems (SMJSs) is solved by introducing a new quadratic cost function established by the penalty function method, which combines the penalty function and the weighting matrices. First, the indefinite robust optimal regulator problem for uncertain SMJSs is transformed into the robust optimal regulator problem with positive definite weighting matrices for uncertain Markov jump systems (MJSs). The transformed robust LQ problem is settled by the robust least-squares method, and the condition of the existence and analytic form of the robust optimal regulator are proposed. On the infinite horizon, the optimal state feedback is obtained, which can guarantee the regularity, causality, and stochastic stability of the corresponding optimal closed-loop system and eliminate the uncertain parameters of the closed-loop system. A numerical example and a practical example of DC motor are used to verify the validity of the conclusions.
