Abstract:Notice of Retraction After careful and considered review of the content of this paper by a duly constituted expert committee, this paper has been found to be in violation of IEEE's Publication Principles. We hereby retract the content of this paper. Reasonable effort should be made to remove all past references to this paper. The presenting author of this paper has the option to appeal this decision by contacting TPII@ieee.org. Since there has been long debates over the question “How IT can create its business value?” in IS literatures, this paper argued we can further understand its mechanism basing on the organization ambidexterity view. We first briefly review the related literatures on IT business value and organization ambidexterity. Then drawing upon the idea of organizational exploitation, exploration and ambidexterity, we developed a model to demonstrate how firms can create IT-based value through IT ambidexterity capabilities. We also discuss challenges for further development of this literature.
