Abstract:We study the structure of solutions of the boundary-value problem where Δ2 is the biharmonic operator and B⊂R3 is the unit ball. We show that there are infinitely many turning points of the branch of the radial solutions of (0.1). The structure of solutions depends on the classification of the radial solutions of the equation This is in sharp contrast with the corresponding result in ℝ2.

Abstract:In the analysis of parametrized nonautonomous evolutionary equations, bounded entire solutions are natural candidates for bifurcating objects. Appropriate explicit and sufficient conditions for such branchings, however, require to combine contemporary functional analytical methods from the abstract bifurcation theory for Fredholm operators with tools originating in dynamical systems. This paper establishes alternatives classifying the shape of global bifurcating branches of bounded entire solutions to Carathéodory differential equations. Our approach is based on the parity associated to a path of index 0 Fredholm operators, the global Evans function as a recent tool in nonautonomous bifurcation theory and suitable topologies on spaces of Carathéodory functions.

Abstract:This paper deals with the boundary value problems of nonlinear partial differential inclusions, driven by a negative Laplacian, and with the multivalued term which contains the gradient. It is proved the existence of solutions for the inclusions with the convex and nonconvex valued perturbations. The existence of extremal solutions and a strong relaxation theorem are also obtained.

Abstract:We introduce a class of inclusion problems with the Dirichlet boundary involving nonlinear elliptic differential operators and multivalued convection terms in the generalized Orlicz–Sobolev spaces. Some sufficient conditions are provided to ensure that sub and supersolutions exist. We established existence theorems and estimated norm of solutions to the inclusion problems via the method of sub-supersolution. Some examples of applications for the above inclusion problems are presented.

Abstract:We obtain nonconstant solutions of semilinear elliptic Neumann boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearities when the asymptotic limits of the nonlinearity fall in the type (Il), l>2 and (IIl), l⩾1 regions formed by the curves of the Fucik spectrum. Furthermore, we have at least two nonconstant solutions in every order interval under resonance case. In this paper, we apply the sub–sup solution method, Fucik spectrum, mountain pass theorem in order intervals, degree theory and Morse theory to get the conclusions.

The primary techniques employed consist of variational methods for Locally Lipschitz functional applied to fractional Orlicz–Sobolev space. Our main results generalize some recent findings in the literature to non-smooth cases.

Abstract:In this paper, we mainly establish the existence of at least three non-trivial solutions for a class of nonhomogeneous quasilinear elliptic systems with Dirichlet boundary value or Neumann boundary value in a bounded domain $\Omega\subset\mathbb{R}^N $ and $N\geq 1$. We exploit the method which is based on [6]. This method let us obtain the concrete open interval about the parameter $\lambda$. Since the quasilinear term depends on $u$ and $\nabla u$, it is necessary for our proofs to use the theory of monotone operators and the skill of adding one dimension to space.

By utilizing the fibering map approach and iterative method, we aim to address these challenges and provide new insights into the field. Notably, these issues have not been previously explored in existing literature, highlighting the originality and significance of our study.

Abstract:In this paper, we present two results on global continuation of monotone front-type solutions to elliptic PDEs posed on infinite cylinders. This is done under quite general assumptions, and in particular applies even to fully nonlinear equations as well as quasilinear problems with transmission boundary conditions. Our approach is rooted in the analytic global bifurcation theory of Dancer and Buffoni--Toland, but extending it to unbounded domains requires contending with new potential limiting behavior relating to loss of compactness. We obtain an exhaustive set of alternatives for the global behavior of the solution curve that is sharp, with each possibility having a direct analogue in the bifurcation theory of second-order ODEs. As a major application of the general theory, we construct global families of internal hydrodynamic bores. These are traveling front solutions of the full two-phase Euler equation in two dimensions. The fluids are confined to a channel that is bounded above and below by rigid walls, with incompressible and irrotational flow in each layer. Small-amplitude fronts for this system have been obtained by several authors. We give the first large-amplitude result in the form of continuous curves of elevation and depression bores. Following the elevation curve to its extreme, we find waves whose interfaces either overturn (develop a vertical tangent) or become exceptionally singular in that the flow in both layers degenerates at a single point on the boundary. For the curve of depression waves, we prove that either the interface overturns or it comes into contact with the upper wall.
