Abstract:Based on Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANET) technology, Aeronautical Ad Hoc Networks (AANETs) bring a new direction for aeronautical communication. By applying AANET technology, data transmission between airplanes is achieved through multi-hop routing, overcoming the limitations of ground base station coverage. The extensive coverage of AANETs renders traditional single-domain management methods unsuitable, necessitating research into efficient, low-cost, and reliable, domain-based routing schemes, including inter-domain and intra-domain routing. This paper focuses on intra-domain routing, improving the Optimized Link State Routing (OLSR) mechanism. A mathematical model for Multi Point Relay (MPR) selection is established and solved using linear programming, proposing a full-network topology-based MPR selection algorithm. This reduces the number of MPR nodes, simplifies the network topology, and includes a message redundancy check strategy to reduce the redundant forwarding of Topology Control (TC) messages. To minimize end-to-end delay, hop count, and maximize bottleneck bandwidth, Multi-Objective Intra-Domain Routing algorithm for Aeronautical Ad Hoc Networks Based on Enhanced OLSR Networking (MIRA-OLSR) is proposed. This algorithm integrates the improved networking mechanism with multi-objective optimization, achieving flexible, low-cost, and reliable intra-domain routing. Simulations using real flight data verify that, compared to the benchmark algorithm, MIRA-OLSR achieves the lowest end-to-end delay and hop count, the highest forwarding success rate and bottleneck bandwidth, while reducing the number of forwarding times of broadcast packets compared to OLSR. This results in low-cost, reliable, high-bandwidth, and low-delay intra-domain routing.
