Abstract:Based on the concept and principles of quantum computing and the principle of the immune clonal selection, a new algorithm for multi-objective 0/1 knapsack problems is introduced. In the algorithm, for the novel representation, qubit antibodies in the antibody population are updated by applying a new chaos update strategy. A quantitative metric is used for testing the convergence to the Pareto-optimal front. Simulation results on the 0/1 knapsack problems show that the new algorithm, in most cases, is more effective.

Abstract:After making a series of improvements to quantum-inspired evolutionary algorithm, inspiring from the idea of the clonal proliferation, we proposed a quantum immune evolutionary algorithm. In this algorithm, the probability expectation corresponding to quantum chromosome is used to compare with the best solution to determine the rotation angle, the idea of the clonal proliferation is introduced into the collapse operation, and Hε gate is used to prevent from the premature convergence. After analyzing this algorithm, we apply it to the knapsack problem. And comparing with conventional genetic algorithm and quantum-inspired evolutionary algorithm, the experimental results illustrate that the proposed algorithm has better performance. © 2005 by Binary Information Press.

Abstract:The 0/1 Knapsack Problem is a very well known and it appears in many real life world with different application. In this paper, we propose a new hybrid algorithm which inspired from Ant Colony Algorithm (ACA) and Antibody Immune Clonal Algorithm (AICA) to tackle 0-1 knapsack problem. ACA algorithm which benefit from its positive strategy has a great performance in local search, but it is prone to stagnation; AICA algorithm can search in a greater range, but it is lack of sufficient utilization of feedback information of system. So, we take full advantages of the ability of searching and the diversity which they provide respectively. Some parameters of the algorithm and the comparison with other algorithms have been performed. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is a perfect hybrid algorithm with higher performance.

Abstract:Based on the concept and principles of quantum computing, a quantum-inspired immune clonal multiobjective optimization algorithm (QICMOA) is proposed to solve extended 0/1 knapsack problems. In QICMOA, we select less-crowded Pareto-optimal individuals to perform cloning, recombination update. Meanwhile, the Pareto-optimal individual is proliferated and divided into a set of subpopulation groups. Individual in a subpopulation group is represented by multi-state gene quantum bits. For the novel representation, qubit individuals in subpopulation are updated by applying a new chaos update strategy. The proposed recombination realizes the information communication among individuals so as to improve the search efficiency. We compare QICMOA with SPEA, NSGA, VEGA and NPGA in solving nine 0/1 knapsack problems. The statistical results show that QICMOA has a good performance in converging to true Pareto-optimal fronts with a good distribution.

Abstract:Based on the concepts and principles of quantum computing, a novel immune clonal algorithm, called a quantum-inspired immune clonal algorithm (QICA), is proposed to deal with the problem of global optimization. In QICA, the antibody is proliferated and divided into a set of subpopulation groups. The antibodies in a subpopulation group are represented by multistate gene quantum bits. In the antibody's updating, the general quantum rotation gate strategy and the dynamic adjusting angle mechanism are applied to accelerate convergence. The quantum NOT gate is used to realize quantum mutation to avoid premature convergences. The proposed quantum recombination realizes the information communication between subpopulation groups to improve the search efficiency. Theoretical analysis proves that QICA converges to the global optimum. In the first part of the experiments, 10 unconstrained and 13 constrained benchmark functions are used to test the performance of QICA. The results show that QICA performs much better than the other improved genetic algorithms in terms of the quality of solution and computational cost. In the second part of the experiments, QICA is applied to a practical problem (i.e., multiuser detection in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access systems) with a satisfying result.

Abstract:Based on the characteristics of the quantum mechanism, a novel quantum walk artificial bee colony algorithm is proposed to promote performance. Firstly, the discrete quantum walk is an approach taken to search for new food sources in the updated phase for employed bees and onlooker bees, which can enhance the probability of the target solution to extend the exploration capability. Secondly, the food source selection policy of the onlooker bees changes, from roulette selection to tournament selection, to boost exploitation and convergence speed. Finally, the novel algorithm is brought forward, along with the approach to analyze 0-1 knapsack problems. The experimental results prove that our algorithm can overcome the premature phenomenon and perform better in the areas of search capability, convergence speed, and stability performance. The performance is superior to that of the conventional artificial bee colony algorithm, as well as the genetic algorithm, in a set of 0-1 knapsack problems.

Abstract:A quantum cooperative immune algorithm is proposed for dynamic optimization problem, which is based on the synergism strategy and principles of quantum-inspired immune computing, and its global convergence is proved in theory. Individuals in a population are represented by quantum bits(qubits). In the individual's updating, the quantum rotation gate strategy and the dynamic adjusting rotation angle mechanism are applied to accelerate convergence. By using cooperative strategy, the information between the subpepulations is exchanged and the diversity of the population is improved. The stability of the proposed algorithm is strengthened to make it fit for the dynamic problem by introducing the relevance of quantum population. In the experiment, the quantum cooperative immune algorithm is tested on dynamic problem and compared with other algorithms by t test. The results indicate that the proposed algorithm has good robustness and adaptability.

Abstract:This paper proposes a novel immune clonal algorithm, called a quantum-inspired immune clonal algorithm (QICA), which is based on the concept and principles of quantum computing, such as a quantum bit and superposition of states. Like other evolutionary algorithms, QICA is also characterized by the representation of the individual, the evaluation function, and the population dynamics. However, instead of binary, numeric, and symbolic representation, QICA uses a quantum bit, defined as the smallest unit of information, for the probabilistic representation and uses a string of quantum bits as a quantum bit individual. By quantum mutation operator, we can make full use of the information of the current best individual to perform the next search for speeding up the convergence. To demonstrate its effectiveness and applicability, experiments are carried out on premature convergence. Secondly, owing to the novel unconstrained benchmark problems and multiuser detection in direct-sequence code-division multiple-access (DS-CDMA) system. The results show that QICA is superior to the other algorithms in quality and efficiency

Abstract:This paper introduces a computational model simulating the dynamic process of human immune response to solve multidimensional knapsack problems. The new model is a quaternion (G, I, R, At), where G denotes exterior stimulus or antigen,denotes the set of valid antibodies, R denotes the set of reaction rules describing the interactions between antibodies, and Al denotes the dynamic algorithm describing how the reaction rules are applied to antibody population. The set of antibody-adjusting rules, the set of clonal selection rules, and a dynamic algorithm, named MKP-PAISA, are designed for solving multidimensional knapsack problems. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm was validated by testing on 57 benchmark problems and comparing with three genetic algorithms. The results indicated that the proposed algorithm was suitable for solving multidimensional knapsack problems.

Abstract:The theories of machine-learning are applied to the immune genetic algorithm. Chromosomes' immunity is enhanced and the average fitness of chromosomes is improved by using adaptive vaccine, so as to avoid the loss of the best solution, shrink the searching space and speed up the evolution, then the best solution can be get earlier. At the same time, the results are compared with each other through the optimization calculation of the modified immune genetic algorithm and the traditional genetic algorithm in solving classic 3x3 JSP problem.

Abstract:This paper proposes a quantum immune clone algorithm to solve the constrained multi-objective optimization problem. Firstly, constraints deviation value is added to objective function value to form a new objective function value, which translates the constrained multi-objective optimization problem into an unconstrained multi-objective optimization problem. Secondly, it does not only retain the feasible non-dominated solutions, but also utilizes the non-feasible solutions which have small constraint deviation value and objective function value. The appearing of the non-feasible solutions expands the search scope and makes it easy to evolve solutions near the Pareto front. Then, a quantum rotating gate is designed to accelerate the computational speed. At last, crossover and mutation are used to obtain better individuals. Compared with the state-of-art algorithm, simulation results show that the proposed algorithm has a better improvement on GD distance and on the diversity.
A Novel Self-Adaptive Quantum Genetic Algorithm

Abstract:The current quantum evolution algorithms have slow convergence rate and poor robustness. In order to overcome the two shortages, a novel self-adaptive quantum genetic algorithm is proposed. Firstly, the new algorithm adopts an encoding method which is based on the Bloch spherical coordinates. Secondly, in the process of searching the optimal solution, a self-adaptive factor is introduced to reflect the relative change rates which are relative to the difference of the best individual's objective fitness between the parent generation and the child generation. The convergence rate and direction of the algorithm can be improved by adjusting the factor. The rules of updating the rotation angle and are constructed. Finally, using hadamard gate of the quantum in the mutation strategy, it can enhance the diversity of population. The simulation results of the optimizing problem of the multidimensional complex functions show that the new algorithm has not only avoided effectively the premature and improved the convergence rate, but also boosted strikingly efficiency and stability robustness of the algorithm.

Abstract:A quantum cooperative immune algorithm for SAT problems is proposed,which is based on the synergism strategy and the principles of quantum-inspired immune computing.Based on converting the SAT problems into global problems,many subpopulations are adopted.Individuals in a population are represented by quantum bits(qubits).In the individual's updating,the quantum rotation gate strategy and adjusting rotation angle mechanism are applied to accelerate convergence.By using the cooperative strategy,information among the subpopulation is exchanged and the diversity of population is improved.In experiments,3 700 different benchmark SAT problems in SATLIB are used to test the performance of the quantum cooperative immune algorithm,moreover,the performance of QCIA is compared with the standard immune clonal selection algorithm(ICSA),quantum genetic algorithm and quantum glonal selection algorithm.All experimental results show that the success ratio of QCIA is the highest and that the run time and number of function evaluations are the least among the three algorithms.

Abstract:Based on artificial immune system and strength Pareto theory, a novel immune system strength pareto algorithm (ISSPA) for multiobjective 0/1 knapsack problem is proposed. ISSPA integrates clonal selection theory and presents a new operation- inject bacterin operation. Also, ISSPA uses the immune differential degree to increass the diversity of the populations, resulting in more uniformly distributing global Pareto optimal solutions. The comparison of ISSPA with other five representative methods in multiobjective 0/1 knapsack problems suggests that ISSPA clearly outperforms the other five multiobjective optimization evolution algorithms in solutions performances of coverage and distribution.

Abstract:The basic principle of quantum-inspired immune clonal algorithm is analyzed and an improved strategy with adaptive function is proposed.Quantum observing entropy is introduced to evaluate the population evolutionary level, and relevant parameters are adjusted according to the entropy value. In the experiments, the proposed algorithm is used in function optimization and the optimization result is compared with other algorithms, such as QICA, SICA, QEA. The convergence of the proposed algorithm is proved theoretically. The experimental results indicate that the calculation efficiency and search capability are much improved by the proposed algorithm.
