Abstract:The first aryl iodide catalyzed intramolecular C-H amination of phenylurea has been disclosed for high-efficiency synthesis of benzimidazolone derivatives in excellent yields (up to 97%) by an operationally simple one-step organocatalytic oxidative process. Fluorinated protic alcohols can efficiently accelerate the conversion of this transformation. The straightforward method has good functional group tolerance and can be performed with an inexpensive and readily accessible catalyst with high proficiency.

Abstract:1-Aryl-1H-benzotriazole derivatives were synthesized via intramolecular cyclization of easily obtained triazenes, using CuI as the catalyst. DMSO as the solvent, t-BuONa as the base, and 1,10-phenanthroline as the ligand, in up to 97% yield. The synthesis is regiospecific and functional group-tolerant.

Abstract:A direct method for the synthesis of heteroaryl‐substituted 1,3,5‐triazines from readily available methyl‐azaarenes and amidines has been developed. The present method involves iodine mediated cascade aerobic C(sp3)–H oxidative amination and following condensation, cyclization with amidine. Both of methyl quinoline, pyridine and benzothiazole derivatives could be well tolerated to react with various amidines leading to corresponding products in good to excellent yields.

Abstract:The synthesis of 1-monosubstituted 1,2,3-triazoles was achieved using azides and propiolic acid by copper-catalyzed click cycloaddition/decarboxylation, which was easily carried out in N, N-dimethylformamide at room temperature or 60 degrees C with yields ranging from moderate to excellent. The reaction conditions were found to be successful for aryl and vinyl azide reactants, including analogues with various functionalities.

Abstract:The general synthesis of fully substituted N2-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles is hitherto challenging compared with that of the N1-aryl counterparts. Herein, we describe a Cu-catalyzed annulation reaction of azirines and aryldiazonium salts. This regiospecific method allows access to a broad spectrum of tri-carbo N2-aryl-1,2,3-triazoles substituted with diverse aryl and alkyl moieties. Its utility is highlighted by the synthesis of several triazole precursors applicable in drug discovery, as well as novel chiral binaphthyl ligands bearing triazole moieties.

Abstract:An efficient synthesis of 1,5-diaryl-4-benzothiazolyl-substituted 1,2,3-triazoles by organocatalytic 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions, from easily available benzo[d]thiazole derivatives and substituted azidobenzenes, has been developed. The 1,8-diazabicyclo[5,4,0]undec-7-ene is used as organocatalyst, and the 2-(1,5-diaryl-1H-1,2,3-triazol-4-yl)benzo[d]thiazoles were obtained in good yields (60% - 82%) with regiospecificity. The structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR and HRMS.

Abstract:A one-pot method for the synthesis of 4,5-disubstituted-1,2,3-(NH)-triazoles via carbonylative Sonogashira reaction/1,3-dipolar cycloaddition of terminal acetylenes, carbon monoxide, aryl iodides, and sodium azide was developed. Abstract:A novel and efficient oxidative annulation of 2-aminobenzamides with nitromethane has been developed for the chemoselective synthesis of N-substituted 1,2,3-benzotriazine-4(3H)-ones in moderate to excellent yields under transition metal-free conditions. Two N-N bonds were constructed in one pot via C-N cleavage of nitromethane, which was selectively employed as the nitrogen synthon. The preliminary mechanistic studies revealed that this protocol proceeded under hypoiodite catalysis generated in situ.

Abstract:An unprecedented [4 + 3] annulation reaction of aza- ortho-quinone methides with arylcarbohydrazonoyl chlorides has been achieved under mild conditions. Abstract:A novel oxidative rearrangement of 3-aminoindazoles is reported, enabling the production of diverse functionalized 1,2,3-benzotriazine-4(3 H)-ones in good yields at room temperature. The key success of this unprecedented transformation of 3-aminoindazoles is the use of water as cosolvent, which could facilitate the halogen-induced ring expansion of 3-aminoindazoles under oxidative conditions.

Abstract:A novel potassium iodide‐catalyzed three‐component synthesis of quinazolines via benzylic CH bonds amination was developed. Commonly used ammonia salt and the sp3 carbon in commercially available methylarenes were used as nitrogen and C1 sources, respectively. Mechanistic studies indicated that an aryl aldehyde is involved as a key intermediate in the reaction.

Abstract:Many [1, 2, 4] triazolobenzoheteroazepine derivatives show interesting biological activities. In this paper, the geminal arylazo isocyanato compounds 3 were prepared from chroman-4-ones in three steps, i.e. condensation with arylhydrazine, cycloaddition of the resulting hydrazone with HNCO, and oxidative ring cleavage by KMnO4. Compounds 3 were allowed to react with HBF4, producing the respective 3-spiro substituted 1-aryl-4, 5-dihydro-5-oxo-3H-1, 2, 4-triazolium salts 4. The concurrent rearrangement of compound 4 with insertion of the nitrogen atom into the carbon skeleton provided, after the basic work-up, 2-oxo-[1, 2, 4] triazolo [3, 2-d] [1, 5] benzoxazepines 5a-5h. An unambigous structutal proof was obtained from the X-ray diffraction analysis for compound 5h.
