Abstract:Recent researches on the oxybromination of aromatic rings, one of the most atom-economic protocols to obtain brominated aromatic compounds, are reviewed in this paper, which includes stoichiometric and catalytic ones. Hydrogen peroxide and oxygen, the best candidates for oxidants in the catalytic oxybromination, are discussed in detail.
