Study on Variable Pitch Control of Pump Controlled Hydraulic System of Wind Turbine

Abstract:Variable speed and pitch regulation of wind turbines are two main methods of power regulation for wind energy collection and conversion. Starting from the requirement of capacity and pitch control of large wind turbine, this paper researches on high-performance pitch control technology, applies electro-hydraulic servo pump to control pitch control system, and adopts fuzzy PID control strategy to improve comprehensive anti-interference performance of the system in view of strong load disturbance and poor robustness of system control in pitch control. In this paper, a fuzzy PID control strategy is established by Simulink. Because the load is under strong disturbance condition, we simulate and analyze the load of cylinder under different pitch angles. By establishing the flow field model of fan blades in Fluent, the relationship between the load of hydraulic cylinder and pitch angle under different wind speeds is obtained. Finally, load spectrum of the system is loaded into the simulation model of hydraulic system and control strategy. Through the combination of simulation and experiment, it can be concluded that the system steady-state control accuracy is increased by 71%, response time is increased by 34.28%, and system overshoot is reduced by 48.33%. Verify that the fuzzy PID control strategy has a good control effect for improving the robustness of the system.
