Abstract:Engine control system is currently changing from centralized approach to distributed approach, using digital bus communications instead of point-to-point analog communications. Distributed sensors and actuators in the system will introduce network induced multiple delays and data packet dropout. However, much of research is concerned about the stability of the system lacking the focus on the performance of the system. In this paper, a design method of guaranteed cost controller is proposed for the problem of multi-packet transmission delay and packet dropout in the distributed engine control system. First, a system model of distributed control system with multiple delay and packet dropout is established. Then, a guaranteed cost controller design theorem in the form of bilinear matrix inequalities is given base on Lyapunov-Krasovskii theorem, and solved by a cone-compensation linearization (CCL) method. Finally, simulation verification is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of the guaranteed cost controller designed. According to the method, the cost bound is calculated and the corresponding controller can ensure system’s dynamic performance under different multi-delay and packet losses.
