Abstract:By utilizing a program-controlled temperature rise thermogravimetry technology, studied was the pyrolysis-related weight loss process of Baorixile-origninated lignite and Baotou-originated bituminous coal with the adaptability of a single reaction model and DAEM (distributed activation energy model) to their kinetic analysis being compared and analyzed. The single reaction model needs only a single weight loss curve to obtain the kinetic parameters. However, generally, the curve needs to be processed section by section and only the average value of the activation energy within a temperature range can be obtained. The Miura integration method can be used for the DAEM to directly obtain the activation energy distribution and the values of the frequency factor from at least three weight loss curves at different rates of temperature rise, requiring no prior assumption of the activation energy distribution of coal pyrolysis and the frequency factor assuming a fixed value. The results obtained by using the Miura method show that the activation energy produced from the pyrolysis of Baorixile-originated lignite and Baotou-originated bituminous coal will increase with an increase of the weight loss rate and will be distributed within a range from 250 to 400 kJ/mol. The frequency factor will first increase with a growth of the activation energy. When the activation energy is above 300 kJ/mol,the frequency factor will tend to level off. The DAEM model can be used to describe a whole process of a non-isothermal pyrolysis from a low temperature to a high one and enjoys a broad adaptability to the change of coal ranks and temperature growth rates.
