Abstract:Worldwide attention has been gained by WirelessHART networks particularly in recent years, which has integrated sensor technology, wireless communication technology and computer technology with the ability of information collection, transmission and processing in low cost and low power consumption. It has several important applications such as remote environment monitoring, asset monitoring and flow measurement. Abstract:The Ethernet is more and more used in the industrial environments. Because of the non-deterministic protocol of CSMA/CD, Ethernet is thought not to be suitable for the control of real time applications. With the worldwide application and development of Ethernet, its transmission rate is considered sufficiently high enough to estimate that all messages can be received inside a predefined temporal window. Especially, using Ethernet in industrial network will brings a lot of advantages: (1) consistency with the other communication systems installed in the enterprise; (2) employment of the same hardware all over the factory; (3) short cycle-times due to the high transmission speed; (4) large availability of chips implementing the MAC protocol, etc. In this paper, we first analyze the real-time capability of Ethernet and features of traffic for industrial network. Then, we propose some technologies for the design of an Ethernet-based real-time application. Finally, we present an EPA (Ethernet for Plant Automation)-based open network control system.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of low precision,high energy consumption and short communication distance in traditional wireless sensor networks,a novel wireless sensor network system with WirelessHART technology is proposed.Based on the WirelessHART standard,the system was designed.On the standard base,the main board circuit,wireless communication and sensor module of the system were designed.And the WirelessHART device node for the transmission of obstacles,accuracy and energy consumption test were made.Test results show that the design of the WirelessHART device node can automatically overcome the obstacle transmission,the accuracy up to 98%.Compared it to the ZigBee,the terminal node can reduce energy consumption by 31 day.The designed system has advantages of small size,low power consumption,high precision,strong anti-interference ability.

Abstract:Industrial wireless mesh networks technologies as WirelessHART, ISA100.11a, WIA-PA, e.g., have become a communication infrastructure for process control in harsh and noisy environment. These control systems are wireless mesh networked control systems (WMNCSs). Compared with wireless sensor networks, the Wireless network control systems have more stringent requirements on reliability and real-time communication. Although WirelessHART has introduced many technologies to ensure the stringent reliable and timing properties, it does not provide much guidance on how to meet the design goals for close loop controller. In this work, we provide algorithms for constructing real-time scheduling for close-loop controller over WirelssHART networks. The experiments on test bed show that our scheme can provide highly reliable and real time communication for close loop control.

Abstract:Aiming at the problems of the complex environment of modern construction site,the random distribution of tower cranes and the hard and expensive physical connection between the tower cranes,the technology of industry wireless communication was investigated.On the basis of Token Bus Network,the wireless communication based on token passing was presented.The function of auto login and logout system and fault detection was also added to the wireless communication protocol.Finally,the flow of this wireless communication and the format of frames were given.The results indicate that this wireless communication mode can not only make the system fast and real-time but also have the good expandability.

Abstract:WirelessHART standard is the first international standard for Industrial Wireless Sensor Networks (IWSN) approved by International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), and, as such, it is worthwhile to implement on simulator platforms. Based on the study of WirelessHART standard, this paper is a primary implementation of the Medium Access Control layer of WirelessHART standard. To our best knowledge, this is the first comprehensive implementation of WirelessHART using the OPNET simulator. This paper also proposes the improvement of shared slot access method by using slotted Carrier Sense Multiple Access/Collision Avoidance (CSMA/CA), which outperforms the existing slotted ALOHA by increasing the throughput for 2 % and reducing the packet loss. Flexible dedicated slot assignment has also been proposed to reduce the packet loss rate caused by influences of the physical channel.

Abstract:In this paper, an intelligent node for the industrial wireless measurement and control network is designed and developed based on the technology of embedded system and Wireless LAN. As the wireless network expansion for traditional industrial equipments, the node obtains the data form equipments through the RS232, RS485, or CAN bus interface, and send it to PLC or computer controller. It thus effectively makes up for the lack of the wired network in the application of some special environments, expands the applications of industrial measurement and control network.

By analyzing the strong and weak points of standardized fieldbus, a new hierarchy communication system framework is presented in the paper, in which the widely accepted standards of higher layer are kept unchanged while the lower layer taking a new solution based on modified fieldbus. In order to demonstrate the feasibility, a prototype system is introduced.

Abstract:WirelessHART is the first open wireless communication standard designed for industrial monitoring and control. Process industry applications for real-time plant have stringent needs of reliability, stability and security of wireless communication. In this paper we propose an approach for reliable routing graph construction and energy efficient link selection to enhance the reliability of the communication and prolong the network lifetime. In particular, we ensure at least two neighbor nodes are maintained for each node to support increase the delivery ratio of hop-level retransmission. Furthermore, link quality and energy model are considered in the link selection process, which reduces the potential number of retransmission and balances the residual energy in the network. Experimental results show that our proposed mechanism outperforms the state-of-the-art WirelessHART routing algorithms in terms of extending the network lifetime and the reliability of message transmission.

Abstract:WirelessHART is an international wireless communication standard proposed by HART Communication Foundation. As a crucial technique for wireless networks, time synchronization plays an important role especially in WirelessHART networks. For constant and reliable communication, it is necessary to provide precise network-wide time synchronization for TDMA-based WirelessHART. The network-wide time synchronization (NWTS) on an open source platform named OMNeT++ was implemented in this paper. In addition, we not only adopted a proposed Kalman-Filtering algorithm to ensure the precise synchronization but also designed a NWTS mechanism for WirelessHART. Moreover, we detailedly designed the mechanism of selecting and synchronizing the time reference sources (TRSs). Finally, we evaluated this implementation and made a comparison to TPSN in the aspect of error, robustness and power consumption.

Abstract:WIA-PA is one of two IEC open wireless standards for the industrial process automation. In this demonstration we build a fully operational WIA-PA network and illustrate how to interconnect WIA-PA network with PLC system. We show the construction of the network, the process of configuring WIA-PA through existed PLC system, protocol and data transfer, and flow of data for a process monitoring and control application. This demonstration network serves as a proof of the WIA-PA standard viability and as a platform for our future research and experiments.

Abstract:Wireless HART是一种高可靠的网状无线传感器网络通信协议.TDMA和FHSS技术增强了Wireless HART网络的抗干扰能力;其独特的图路由模型保留了网络中丰富的冗余路径.描述了如何为Wireless HART网络中的每一条链路分配时隙和安排信道,在避免冲突的前提下,提高网络性能,并且提出一种基于图路由的资源调度算法.我们的调度策略结合Wireless HART网络的路由选择算法和多跳重传机制,大大提高了网络的强健性,同时保证了网络具有较高的吞吐率.此外,考虑到网络通信的实时性,本文策略合理地安排链路的次序,充分利用了网络资源,有效地减少网络延时.通过性能分析表明我们的资源调度策略使网络性能接近最优.与目前已有的Wireless HART调度算法相比较,我们的调度策略具有高可靠性和低延时等优势.

Abstract:With rapid development of wireless sensor networks, especially WirelssHART networks, channel assignment in physical layer has been becoming an obstacle for data transmission with increasing amount of various field devices. This paper is mainly written to describe, in star-topology WirelessHART networks, the optimization on channel assignment based on stave principle, which is analogous to a mathematical graph of pitch with respect to time for music notes recording. And the optimization algorithm verification, which adopts software simulation verification and measurement, is then proposed to validate the feasibility and operability of this kind of optimization algorithm. The tasks fulfilled in this paper, also, are related to an ongoing WirelessHART project cooperated with GE, an abbreviation of General Electric Company.
A Low Overhead Routing Strategy for WirelessHART

Abstract:WirelessHART communication protocol is an emerging wireless sensor network communication protocol specification, which is applied to the industrial field because of its high reliability. According to the characteristics of wirelessHART data stream, a double-tree structure is used for original network topology. On the basis of it, the paper proposes a routing strategy for the wirelessHART network. The basic idea of the strategy is that the full-redundance routing method proposed in the WirelessHART specification is reserved for upstream routing, while the multi-path routing method is used for downstream routing. The strategy simplifies Graph routing, thus reducing the storage overhead of the network manager and device nodes, as well as routing maintenance overhead of whole network. Experimental results show that our algorithm is effective to reduce the routing overhead, while still keeping basic reliability of communication.

Abstract:With its application in industry, the wireless technology need to satisfy the higher demand in harsh industrial environment. This paper first analyzed the WirelessHART protocol, and then it merited the mechanism of WirelessHART to design wireless mesh protocol in industry according to application demand. Following that, the modified Dijkstra's algorithm was presented on the basis of graph routing. Finally, the feasibility of this protocol and the real-time implementation of the algorithm were verified by simulating in OMNeT++, so this protocol can meet the demand of time deterministic for industry application.
