Abstract:The fifth-generation NCAR/Penn State nonhydrostatic dynamics mesoscale model (MM5) was used for the numerical study of the microclimate of the coastal area where an inclined surface is in presence. The main factors representing the coastal microlimate are computed under the conditions of different slope locations and different grades. It is shown that the sea/land breeze has been hastened at the beginning due to the existance of the slope. When the sea/land breeze develops, the slope wakes as a barrier which depresses the surface pressure and reduces the wind velocity. The main factors representing the coastal microlimate are also influenced by the slope location and grades.
