Abstract:Entanglement dynamics for a couple of two-level atoms interacting with independent structured reservoirs is studied using a non-perturbative approach. It is shown that the revival of atom entanglement is not necessarily accompanied by the sudden death of reservoir entanglement, and vice versa. In fact, atom entanglement can revive before, simultaneously or even after the disentanglement of reservoirs. Using a novel method based on the population analysis for the excited atomic state, we present the quantitative criteria for the revival and death phenomena. To give a more physically intuitive insight, the quasimode Hamiltonian method is applied. Our quantitative analysis is helpful for the practical engineering of entanglement.

Abstract:We consider the entanglement dynamics of N qubits interacting with independent structured reservoirs. The system is initially prepared in the multipartite Greenberger–Horne–Zeilinger (GHZ)-type state. We study the dependence of the entanglement dynamics on both the qubit number N and the purity of initial state, and show that the qubit number N and the purity can control the time of appearance of the N-qubit entanglement sudden death and the entanglement sudden birth of the reservoirs. Also based on the purity and the qubit number N, the revival of N-qubit entanglement does not necessarily indicate the disentanglement of reservoirs, and manifests before, simultaneously or even after the finite-time disentanglement of reservoirs.

Abstract:The time evolution of genuine multipartite entanglement is numerically studied in a model many-spin system decohered by a structured spin bath. It is found that multipartite entanglement can be more persistent than the bipartite entanglement and can even evolve into a specific constant under certain conditions. Besides, multipartite entanglement sudden death and sudden birth are observed. It is shown that the randomness of the coupling strength and connectivity between the spins in the environment will suppress these birth and death phenomena. Furthermore, the initial state of the central system plays a significant role in determining multipartite entanglement dynamics.
Sudden change of genuine multipartite entanglement in non-Markovian dynamics

Abstract:We investigate entanglement dynamics of bipartite as well multipartite systems beyond Markov approximation. We study two pairs of cavity-reservoir systems, modeled as four qubits and track the change of entanglement among cavity-cavity qubits, reservoir-reservoir qubits, and also for genuine entanglement of all four qubits. For cavity-cavity qubits, we find that non-Markovianity prolongs the life of entanglement besides collapse/revival phenomenon. For reservoir-reservoir qubits, entanglement sudden birth is delayed accordingly along with oscillations. For all four qubits, with a specific initial state, we find that genuine entanglement develops gradually, reaches to a maximum constant value and then freezes at this value for some time before decaying. This sudden change in dynamics of genuine entanglement occurs for a time window where neither cavities nor reservoirs are entangled. In contrast to Markov process, sudden change phenomenon may be recurrent in non-Markovian regime.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement dynamics of a system that consists of four single-mode cavities that are spatially separated and connected by two optical fibers, with multiple two-level atoms trapped in each cavity. It is shown that the phenomenon of entanglement sudden death and sudden birth appears in this system and is sensitive to the initial conditions and the parameter r. In addition, we also study the entanglement and entangled state transfer between the atoms and find that a perfect transfer can be realized if the value of the parameter r satisfies a certain condition, established here.

Abstract:We present a detailed study of the entanglement dynamics of a two-qubit system coupled to independent non-Markovian environments, employing hierarchy equations. This recently developed theoretical treatment can conveniently solve non-Markovian problems. We concentrate on calculating the death and rebirth time points of the entanglement to obtain a general view of the concurrence curve and explore the behavior of entanglement dynamics with respect to the coupling strength, the characteristic frequency of the noise bath and the environment temperature.

Abstract:We investigate entanglement dynamics of three independent qubits each locally interacting with a zero-temperature non-Markovian reservoir. The effects of environment's amount of non-Markovianity or parameters in initial states on the three-qubit entanglement dynamics are presented in detail. It is found that the entanglement of such a system revives after a finite dark period when a proper degree of non-Markovian is present. A deep comparison to that in two-qubit system is also made.

Abstract:We derive a set of hierarchical equations for qubits interacting with a Lorentz-broadened cavity mode at zero temperature, without using the rotating-wave, Born, and Markovian approximations. We use this exact method to reexamine the entanglement dynamics of two qubits interacting with a common bath, which was previously solved only under the rotating-wave and single-excitation approximations. With the exact hierarchy equation method used here, double excitations due to counter-rotating-wave terms are found to have remarkable effects on the dynamics and the steady-state entanglement.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement dynamics of bipartite quantum system between two qubits with the dissipative environment. We begin with the standard Markovian master equation in the Lindblad form and the initial state which is prepared in the extended Werner-like state: $\rho^{\Phi}_{AB}(0)$. We examine the conditions for entanglement sudden death (ESD) and calculate the corresponding ESD time by the Wootters' concurrence. We observe that ESD is determined by the parameters like the mean occupation number of the environment $N$, amount of initial entanglement $\alpha$, and the purity $r$. For N=0, we get the analytical expression of both ESD condition and ESD time. For $N>0$ we give a theoretical analysis that ESD always occurs, and simulate the concurrence as a function of $\gamma_0t$ and one of the parameters $N, \alpha$, and $r$.

Abstract:Using the nonperturbative method, we study the exact entanglement dynamics of two two-level dipole-dipole interacting atoms coupled to a common non-Markovian reservoir with different coupling strengths. Besides analyzing the conditions for the existence of steady state, we find, though the dipole-dipole interaction could destroy the stationary entanglement, that relatively stro ng dipole-dipole interaction does suppress the disentanglement in the initial period of time. These results are help ful for the practical engineering of the entanglement in the future.

Abstract:We analyze the dynamics of the entanglement in two independent non-Markovian channels. In particular, we focus on the entanglement dynamics as a function of the initial states and the channel parameters, such as the temperature and the ratio r between omega(0), the characteristic frequency of the quantum system of interest, and omega(c), the cut-off frequency of the Ohmic reservoir. We give a stationary analysis of the concurrence and find that the dynamic of non-Markovian entanglement concurrence C-rho(t) at temperature k(B)T = 0 is different from the k(B)T > 0 case. We find that 'entanglement sudden death' (ESD) depends on the initial state when kBT = 0, otherwise the concurrence always disappears at a finite time when kBT > 0, which means that the ESD must happen. The main result of this paper is that the non-Markovian entanglement dynamic is fundamentally different from the Markovian one. In the Markovian channel, entanglement decays exponentially and vanishes only asymptotically, but in the non-Markovian channel the concurrence C-rho(t) oscillates, especially in the high temperature case. Then an open-loop controller adjusted by the temperature is proposed to control the entanglement and prolong the ESD time.

Abstract:Based on Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger ($GHZ$) and $W$ initial states, the tripartite entanglement of a fermionic system under the amplitude damping channel and in depolarizing noise when two subsystems accelerated is investigated. Unlike the case of two-qubit system in which sudden death occurs easily, we find here that the sudden death never occurs even all subsystems are under the noise environment. We note that both acceleration and environment can destroy the symmetry between the subsystems, but the effect of environment is much stronger than that of acceleration. We also show that an entanglement rebound process will take place when $P>0.75$ in the depolarizing noise and the larger acceleration will result in the weaker rebound process.

Abstract:The disentanglement of a pair of identical qubits, sharing a dissipative environment, is investigated. We proposed a new non-Markovian analytical method to study the model, which takes into account the counter-rotating term in the qubit-environment interaction. It is shown that when the qubits sufficiently separate from each other, the model is equivalent to each subsystem interacts independently with its local environment. The effects of the dissipative environment and the interqubit distance on the time evolution of the concurrence for four bell states are examined in detail. And point out some new features appearing in the case of the two qubits close together.
Analytical Solutions and Genuine Multipartite Entanglement of the Three-Qubit Dicke Model

Abstract:We present analytical solutions to three qubits and a single-mode cavity coupling system beyond the rotating-wave approximation (RWA). The zeroth-order approximation, equivalent to the adiabatic approximation, works well for arbitrary coupling strength for small qubit frequency. The first-order approximation, called the generalized rotating-wave approximation (GRWA), produces an effective solvable Hamiltonian with the same form as the ordinary RWA one and exhibits substantial improvements of energy levels over the RWA even on resonance. Based on these analytical eigensolutions, we study both the bipartite entanglement and genuine multipartite entanglement (GME). The dynamics of these two kinds of entanglements using the GRWA are consistent with the numerical exact ones. Interestingly, the well-known sudden death of entanglement occurs in the bipartite entanglement dynamics but not in the GME dynamics.

Abstract:We investigate the bipartite entanglement dynamics of the system composed by three qubits A,B,and C.There is no interaction between A and B,and that of C and B is Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya （DM） spin-orbit interaction.We find that the purity of qubits A and B and the initial state of the qubit C are the two effective parameters tocontrol the entanglement dynamics of the bipartite subsystems.This study sheds some lights on the control of quantumentanglement,which would be helpful for quantum information processing.

Abstract:We theoretically study the non-Markovian disentanglement dynamics of a two-qubit system coupled to nonequilibrium environments with nonstationary and non-Markovian random telegraph noise statistical properties. The reduced density matrix of the two-qubit system can be expressed as the Kraus representation in terms of the tensor products of the single qubit Kraus operators. We derive the relation between the entanglement and nonlocality of the two-qubit system which are both closely associated with the decoherence function. We identify the threshold values of the decoherence function to ensure the existences of the concurrence and nonlocal quantum correlations for an arbitrary evolution time when the two-qubit system is initially prepared in the composite Bell states and the Werner states, respectively. It is shown that the environmental nonequilibrium feature can suppress the disentanglement dynamics and reduce the entanglement revivals in non-Markovian dynamics regime. In addition, the environmental nonequilibrium feature can enhance the nonlocality of the two-qubit system. Moreover, the entanglement sudden death and rebirth phenomena and the transition between quantum and classical nonlocalities closely depend on the parameters of the initial states and the environmental parameters in nonequilibrium environments.
Entanglement dynamics in a non-Markovian environment: an exactly solvable model

Abstract:We study the non-Markovian effects on the dynamics of entanglement in an exactly-solvable model that involves two independent oscillators each coupled to its own stochastic noise source. First, we develop Lie algebraic and functional integral methods to find an exact solution to the single-oscillator problem which includes an analytic expression for the density matrix and the complete statistics, i.e., the probability distribution functions for observables. For long bath time-correlations, we see non-monotonic evolution of the uncertainties in observables. Further, we extend this exact solution to the two-particle problem and find the dynamics of entanglement in a subspace. We find the phenomena of `sudden death' and `rebirth' of entanglement. Interestingly, all memory effects enter via the functional form of the energy and hence the time of death and rebirth is controlled by the amount of noisy energy added into each oscillator. If this energy increases above (decreases below) a threshold, we obtain sudden death (rebirth) of entanglement.

Abstract:In this paper, we propose a scheme for generating multipartite entanglement of distant four-level atoms separately trapped in individual cavities, each of which is coupled to a non-Markovian reservoir. The entanglement of atoms is generated by measuring the photons leaking from cavities. In non-Markovian environments, we derive dynamical evolution of the entanglement and obtain the condition of generating the long-living multipartite maximally entangled state. When the condition is not satisfied, by introducing a time-varying coupling strength, the maximal multipartite entangled state can also be generated.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement dynamics of two local two-state quantum systems coupling to a bosonic mode and a common structured bath. Here the bosonic mode is damped by a broadband reservoir and acts as a probe mode for the use of continuous quantum measurement feedback, and the bath has a structure characterized by the Ohmic spectral density. We first present the non-Markovian master equation for the two-state quantum systems and then the corresponding hierarchical equations of motion (HEOM). We illustrate the equivalence between the HEOM approach and the perturbation theory. HEOM-calculations show that the quantum measurement feedback plays a positive role in the entanglement generation, and the non-Markovian effect of the Ohmic bath could greatly enhance this action. We reveal in detail the dependence of the scheme on the spectral density parameters, the temperature of the bath, and the measurement feedback strength. The numerical results are obtained with the HEOM truncated at the third order, which are equal to those obtained with sixth-order perturbation theory.
