Abstract:Nanosized Ag-Fe composite alloy was synthesized through reverse micelles microemulsion to measure the vacuum arc characteristics on this material.Vacuum arc cathode spots were observed by using high speed photography and oscillograph was used to record discharge current curve.The morphology of erosion on cathode after discharge was characterized by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The result indicated that the arc spots was more dispersive,arc lifetime was more long,chopping current was smaller after iron nanoparticles was doped in silver contact material.
