Adaptive Antenna Allocation Based on a Hybrid STBC-VBLAST Transmit Structure

Abstract:Hybrid multiple-input multiple-output(MIMO) schemes seek tradeoffs between data reliability and data rate.The hybrid STBC-VBLAST transmit structure can further compare the signal by adaptively adjust the transmission parameters according to the real-time channel state information(CSI).This paper describes a simple transceiver algorithm which utilizes the orthogonality of the effective transfer matrix to allocate the transmit antennas with the receiver determining the symbols by QR decompostion.Simulations show that the scheme provides much better but even rates than the original hybrid scheme.
