Abstract:To be examined the quality variation of the oxidated coal, two kinds of coal samples, blind coal and bituminous coal, were selected and heated in a series of temperature environments. The mass and the quantity of oxygen physisorption of the coal sample were measured before and after each heating experiment. It shows that both the mass and the quantity of oxygen physisorption have the same characteristic of firstly increasing with temperature and then quickly decreasing. The analysis indicates that the interior change of coal sample mainly leads to the synchronous and coherent variations of coal mass and oxygen physisorption. Under relatively low temperature, coal and oxygen compounds into the transient products with no gas produced. So the mass of the sample increases. And the transient products can adsorb more oxygen. Under higher temperature, both the decomposition of the transient products and the direct reaction between coal and oxygen occur, with gas products releasing. So the mass of the sample decreases. Meanwhile the coal sample becomes fragmented and the molecular force to adsorb oxygen is weakened. The analysis results of coal oxidative stages are consistent to those in literatures.
