Abstract:A new species of the genus Nilothauma Kieffer, N. pandum sp. n., is described, and its morphological descriptions and illustrations are also given. A key to the males of Nilothauma is given. The adult male of N. pandum sp. n. can be distinguished from known species of the genus by the following combination of characters: anal point very broadly lanceolate with microtrichia in median ridge and apical margin, rounded at apex; superior volsella pad-like, expanded distally; median volsella curved, rounded at apex, with 2 long basal setae and 1 long median seta.

Abstract:Two new species of the leafhopper genus Calodia Nielson are described and illustrated: C. quadrimacula sp. nov. from Guizhou and Yunnan Provinces and C. zuoae sp. nov. from Yunnan Province, China. A checklist along with distribution and a key to species based on male genitalia of the genus Calodia from China are provided. Olidiana nigritibiana (Li), comb. nov. (earlier in the genus Calodia) is proposed. At present, this genus comprises 45 known species worldwide, of which 19 species are recorded from China.

Abstract:A new genus and species of the family Capniidae (Plecoptera), Sinocapnia kuankuoshui gen. n., sp. n. is described from the adult male and a female collected in Guizhou Province of southwest China. The new taxon is distinguished from all extant Capniidae genera and the assemblage of species currently included in Capnia sensu lato by combination of unique genitalic, wing, and thoracic sclerites characters. No closely related taxon is indicated on the basis of morphological characters. An annotated checklist of the family Capniidae from the Oriental Realm is given.

Abstract:Five species of the genus Caenis from Chinese mainland are reviewed. Among them, C. parviforcipis (Zhou et al.) (nov. comb.) is transferred from the genus Brachycercus The larvae of the C. sinensis Gui et al. are described for the first time. The previously reported C. nigroforceps Zhou et al. is recognized as a new synonym of the Caenis rivulorum Eaton, and the report of C. nigropunctata Klapalek from China is confirmed. Both imagos and larvae of a new species C. melanoleuca, sp. nov. are described and illustrated in detail.

Abstract:Calvisia is a colorful winged stick insect genus consisting of 6 subgenera and 44 species widely distributed in temperate and tropical Asia. C. medogensis syn. nov. was discovered in Mêdog, Xizang (Tibet), China and is so far the only species recorded from China. We here propose that C. medogensis syn. nov. is a synonym of C. fuscoalata after checking type specimens of both species. New materials studied are deposited in Yunnan Agricultural University, China (YNAU).

Abstract:This paper examines five species of the genus Caliscelis de Laporte, of which two new species, C. rhabdocladis sp. nov.and C. triplicata sp. nov., are described and illustrated, C. affinis Fieber is reported for the first time from China, and other two known species C. orientalis Ôuchi and C. chinensis Melichar are redescribed and illustrated. Abstract:Three marine interstitial scuticociliates, including two new species (Schizocalyptra similis sp. n., S. sinica sp. n.) and one insufficiently described form (Hippocomos salinus Small and Lynn, 1985) collected from sandy beaches in China, were morphologically investigated. The small Subunit rRNA gene of the two new Schizocalyptra species was sequenced in order to compare with that of the only other sequenced congener, S. aeschtae. Both forms investigated in the present paper are demonstrated to be distinctive members of this relatively poorly known genus. Hippocomos salinus was observed in vivo for the first time. A redescription and improved diagnosis are here supplied based on the China-population.

Abstract:The Chinese Hecalina (Deltocephalinae: Hecalini), which consists of five genera, is reviewed. Coloration and shape of the head and body, venation of forewing, and genitalia structures are the main morpological characters utilized to distinguish taxa. Fangamanus gen. n. is proposed for Parabolocratus tripunctatus Matsumura (type species of the new genus) and two other species. A key to the five genera of the Chinese Hecalina (Fangamanus gen. n., Hecalus Stål, Hecalusina He et al., Linnavuoriella Evans, and Thomsonia Signoret) is given, and seven new species from China are described: Hecalus changjiaotus, H. feithailandus, H. nadanus, H. triundosus, H. yuanmouensis, Thomsonia breviaea, and T. daliensis. In addition, four new combinations are proposed: Thomsonia nitobei (Matsumura), Fangamanus rufofascianus (Li), F. tripunctatus (Matsumura) (n. rec.), and F. morrisoni (Kwon and Lee). Only seven previously described species from China remain in Hecalus Stål: H. bifurcatus Cai Wang, H. furcatus Morrison, H. henanus Cai Shen, H. katoi Metcalf, H. prasinus (Matsumura), H. thailandensis Morrison, and H. wallengreni (Stål) plus two species (H. paykulli Stål and H. lefroyi Distant) previously recorded but unconfirmed here from China. Four species are redescribed: Fangamanus rufofascianus, F. tripunctatus, Thomsonia porrecta, and the first description and illustration of the male of T. nitobei (Matsumura) are provided.

Abstract:Chinese members of the genus Cinygmina are reviewed. Four known species ( C. hunanensis, C. obliquistrita, C.rubromaculata, C. yixingensis) and one new species ( C. furcata sp. nov. ) are compared, described and illustrated. One new synonym, C. rubromaculata (= C. hainanensis ) is established.

Abstract:The Chinese species of the genus Chinoperla Zwick, 1980 are reviewed. One species from Hainan is described as new to science: C. changjiangensis sp. nov. Chinoperla gorohovi Sivec & Stark, 2010 is reported from China for the first time, with a redescripion and color images of the male, and the first description of the female and egg. Chinoperla nigrifrons (Banks, 1939) is redescribed and illustrated, synonymy of C. furcomacula (Wu, 1973) is confirmed. Taxonomic relationships within the studied species are discussed. A provisional key to the six known species of Chinoperla for China is presented.

Abstract:Caenoculis acutalis, NEW SPECIES, is described from larvae collected from southern China. This new species represents the first record of the genus Caenoculis Soldan from China, and the fourth species of this genus worldwide. Caenoculis acutalis is relatively similar to C. bishopi Soldan from Malaysia and C. nhahoensis Soldan from Vietnam with respect to presence of a pronotal longitudinal ridge and the protruding edge of the posterolateral corner of the operculate gill. The new species can be easily distinguished from congeners based on unique morphology associated with the mesonotum with a small triangulate protrusion at the anterolateral corners, the abdominal tergum 1 with a narrow medial cone-shaped protrusion, and posterolateral processes on abdominal segments 3-9. Larval habitat of the new species is discussed and represents the first such data for the genus.

Abstract:This paper provides description of a new species, Cheirochela grossa sp. nov. from Yunnan Province. Cheirochela tonkina Polhemus, Polhemus & Sites, 2008, Heleocoris bengalensis montandoni Lundblad, 1933 and Thurselinus scutellaris (Stål, 1860) are reported from China for the first time.
