Abstract:An effective method of explant-culture and obtained highly purified Schwann cells (SCs) based on the differing rates of attachment of cells was developed and approximately 3 × 106 cells that are ≥ 90% pure were yielded. A new nerve repairing material poly [LA-co-(Glc-alt-Lys)] (PLGL) was synthesized. After cocultured the purified SCs with PDLLA and PLGL films, the proliferation of SCs on films was tested; the growth features of cells on the materials were examined through SEM. The results showed that, comparing with PDLLA, the material PLGL possesses better hydrophilicity and biocompatibility, and all these could be helpful for the effective treatment of nerve injury.
