Research progress on the controlled preparation of silver nanomaterials

Abstract:The shape, size and size distribution of silver particles can be controlled by employing different synthetic techniques and adjusting the reaction conditions. Based on the large number published literatures, the research progresses on the controlled synthesis of silver nanoparticles are reviewed. Based on our research work in controlled synthesis of spherical silver nanoparticles, some main synthetic methods of silver nanoparticles, including chemical reduction, microemulsion, template, electrochemical method, photo-induced reduction, microwave-assisted reduction, ultrasonic-assisted reduction, irradiating reduction and so on are commented on. The shortages in the fabrication process of silver nanoparticles are also analyzed. The possible developing trends of the study on the synthetic methods of silver nanoparticles are also prospected.
