Abstract:Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and the free weighting matrix method,a delay-range-dependent stability condition is proposed for a class of linear neutral systems with interval time-varying delays.When the derivative of the delay is known,a range-dependent and rate-dependent stability condition is obtained;when the derivative of the delay is unknown,a range-dependent and rate-independent stability condition is obtained.The proposed stability condition is further extended to the neutral systems with norm-bounded uncertainties and a robust delay-range-dependent stability condition is established.As all the conditions are derived in terms of LMIs,it is very convenient to solve them by using the LMI toolbox.Finally,numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed conditions.

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of absolute stability and robust stability of a class of neutral systems with sector-bounded nonlinearity and mixed time-varying delays. Some new delay-dependent stability criteria are presented based on Lyapunov stability theory and formulated in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Neither model transformation nor bounding technique for cross terms is required in obtaining the stability conditions. Since both the neutral- and discrete-delays are taken into account, the obtained criterion is less conservative than the previous ones, which is illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:This paper studies the global asymptotic stability of neural networks of neutral type with mixed delays. The mixed delays include constant delay in the leakage term (i.e. 'leakage delay'), time-varying delays and continuously distributed delays. Based on the topological degree theory, Lyapunov method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, some sufficient conditions are derived ensuring the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point, which are dependent on both the discrete and distributed time delays. These conditions are expressed in terms of LMI and can be easily checked by the MATLAB LMI toolbox. Even if there is no leakage delay, the obtained results are less restrictive than some recent works. It can be applied to neural networks of neutral type with activation functions without assuming their boundedness, monotonicity or differentiability. Moreover, the differentiability of the time-varying delay in the non-neutral term is removed. Finally, two numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The issue of asymptotic stability is discussed for generalized neutral-type neural networks with time-varying delays. A new stability condition is presented based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii method and the inequality technique, which is dependent on the amount of delay. The proposed result is given in the form of a linear matrix inequality (LMI). Finally, an example is given to illustrate our result. This result is of great significance in designs and applications of globally stable of generalized neutral-type neural networks.

In terms of linear matrix inequalities, delay-dependent conditions are obtained, which guarantee the considered delayed neural network to have a unique equilibrium point, which is globally asymptotically stable. Numerical examples are given to show the less conservatism and effectiveness of the proposed stability conditions.

Abstract:In the paper, the stability and stabilization are considered for neutral-type neural network with Lévy noise and mixed time-varying delays. By employing a class of appropriate Lyapunov functionals, the analysis process of mean square exponential stability for neutral-type neural network with Lévy noise and mixed time-varying delays can be effectively carried out. Based on the linear matrix inequalities technique, the sufficient conditions are presented to ensure the mean square exponential stability for the system. In view of the unstable situation of the system, a feedback controller is designed to stabilize the system, and the corresponding LMIs conditions are given. At last, two numerical examples show the validity of the obtained results.

Abstract:This paper deals with the delay-dependent asymptotic stability analysis problem for stochastic neural networks of neutraltype with mixed delays. The mixed delays comprise both multiple discrete and unbounded distributed delays. To the best of the authors' knowledge, till now, the asymptotic stability problem for this class of neural networks has not yet been solved since neutral-type delays are considered in this paper. The main objective of this paper is to fill this gap. By using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method and the linear matrix inequality (LMI) technique, a novel sufficient condition is derived to guarantee the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point in the mean square. In particular, the proposed stability condition is presented in terms of LMI, which can be easily solved by some standard numerical packages. In addition, an example is given to show the effectiveness of the obtained result.

Abstract:This paper investigates the problem of dependent stability criteria for neutral type neural networks with mixed time-varying delays. Firstly, some new delay-dependent stability results are obtained by employing the more general partitioning approach and generalizing the famous Jensen inequality. Secondly, based on a new type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with the cross terms of variables, less conservative stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, it is the first time that the idea of second-order convex combination and the property of quadratic convex function applied to the derivation of neutral type neural networks play an important role in reducing the conservatism of the paper. Finally, four numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness and the advantage of the proposed method.

Abstract:In this paper, we study the finite-time stability problem of neutral-type neural networks with various hybrid time-varying delays. These delays include general time-varying delays, finite distributed time-varying delays, neutral-type time-varying delays and infinite distributed time-varying delays. Based on the definition of finite-time stability instead of Lyapunov function method, with the aid of inequality techniques, some simple and novel sufficient conditions are derived to guarantee the finite-time stability of our proposed network model. The deduction process is simple and easy to understand. Finally, three simulation examples are given to show the effectiveness of our main results.

Abstract:The problem of global asymptotic stability analysis for a class of stochastic neutral-type neural networks with variable delays was investigated.By constructing an appropriate Lyapunov functional combined with inequality technique,sufficient stability criteria dependent on the size of the time delay were obtained in terms of linear matrix inequality（LMI）.A class of neutral-type networks considered in the paper consists of distributed delays,stochastic perturbation and activation functions which are assumed to be constants（positive,negative,and zero）,so these proposed criteria are universal and representative.The proposed stability results are more universal and less conservative than the existing ones.Finally,two numerical examples were given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.

Abstract:This paper explores the problem of delay-independent and delay-dependent stability for a class of complex-valued neutral-type neural networks with time delays. Aiming at the neutral type neural networks, an appropriate function is constructed to derive the existence of equilibrium point. On the basis of homeomorphism theory, Lyapunov functional method and linear matrix inequality techniques, several LMI-based sufficient conditions on the existence, uniqueness and global asymptotic stability of equilibrium point for complex-valued neutral-type neural networks are obtained. Finally, numerical examples are given to illustrate the feasibility and the effectiveness of the proposed theoretical results.

Abstract:This paper is devoted to stability analysis of a novel delayed neural network, whose neurons are connected with each other through both neurons' feedback connection strength matrix and direct connection strength matrix. Both delay-independent and delay-dependent stability criteria are obtained by integrating LMI approach and Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. By introducing some slack matrix variables, the criteria are less conservative. It is the most efficient for systems with time delay. The criteria are in form of LMI with more slack matrix variables, which may enlarge the range in selecting neural networks' parameters including the upper bound of delay for guaranteeing asymptotic stability of the system. Abstract:In this paper, the problem of the global robust asymptotic stability (GRAS) for a class of interval neural networks described by nonlinear delayed differential equations of the neutral type is investigated. A series of sufficient criteria for such problems are obtained by employing Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional and LMI technique. These conditions are dependent on the size of the time delay, which are usually less conservative than delay-independent ones. Moreover, the activate functions in system are generalized without assuming the boundedness and differentiability. Finally, the effectiveness of the present results is demonstrated by numerical example.

Abstract:The objective of this paper is to analyze the stability analysis of neutral-type neural networks with additive time-varying delay and leakage delay. By constructing a suitable augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with triple and four integral terms, some new stability criteria are established in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which is easily solved by various convex optimization techniques. More information of the lower and upper delay bounds of time-varying delays are used to derive the stability criteria, which can lead less conservative results. The obtained conditions are expressed with linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) whose feasible can be checked easily by MATLAB LMI control toolbox. Finally, two numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
