Status of Ule-Hpge Detector Experiment for Dark Matter Search

Abstract:An Ultra Low Energy HPGe (ULE-HPGe) detector, with CsI (TI) active shielding, is applied to the direct detection experiment for weakly interacting massive particles (WIMP), and located in Korea. The setups for the whole system and the calibration have been completed and more than half a year's background data have been accumulated. Some external neutron and gamma source experiments were carried out to study the origin of the background. The analysis and preliminary results are shown, and an attractive future is also provided.
