Abstract:Considering the larger detuning approximation and the effect of phase damping of cavity field, we have studied the time evolution of the linear entropies for the atom-field system, the field and the atom in the system of a cascade three-level atom interacting with a two-mode field. The effects of ac Stark shifts and initial states of the cavity field on all the linear entropies are analyzed.

Abstract:The evolution of the field (atomic) entropy in a system of a quasi_Λ_type fourlevel atom interacting with an uncoupled two_mode coherent field is investigated. The effects of initial atomic state, the initial mean photon number and the splitting of the atomic energy levels on the entropy are discussed. The system reduces to that of a twolevel or threelevel atom interacting with a singlemode coherent field in special cases.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement of a three-level atom in Λ configuration interacting with two quantized field modes by using logarithmic negativity. Then, we study the relationship of the atomic coherence and the entanglement between two fields which are initially prepared in vacuum or thermal states. We find that if the two fields are prepared in thermal states,the atomic coherence can induce the entanglement between two thermal fields. However, there is no coherence-induced entanglement between two vacuum fields.

Abstract:The time evolution of linear entropy of atom-field coupling system, atom and field in the system of two two-level atoms inside a single-mode cavity with amplitude-damping under the condition of large detuning were investigated. The effects of the initial preparation of two atoms, the decay rate of cavity field and the mean photon number of field on all kinds of linear entropy were discussed. The results show that if both the two atoms are in their excited states or ground states, all the linear entropies equal to zero. But when the two atoms are in their coherent superposition state of excited state and ground state, the cavity dissipation will lead to the system to evolve into a mixed state, the linear entropy of atom and field exhibits periodic oscillations with damped amplitude.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement dynamics and purity of a two-level atom, which is additionally driven by a classical field, interacting with a coherent field in a dissipative environment. It is shown that the amount of entanglement and the purity of the system can be improved by controlling the classical field.

Abstract:The system of a two-level atom interacting with a quantized radiation field in a gravitational field is studied by making use of a dynamical algebraic method. A full quantum treatment of the internal and external dynamics of the atom is given and an exact expression for the time evolution operator of the system is obtained. The influence of the gravitational field on the collapses and revivals of the atomic population, sub-Poissonian statistics, radiation force, atomic momentum diffusion, and squeezing of the radiation field is also investigated.

Abstract:Dynamical behaviour of entanglement between the cavity mode and a three-level atom in the Xi configuration is studied by making use of log-negativity. The influence of initial temperature of the thermal field and detuning on the entanglement is investigated. It is found that the maximal values of entanglement decreases with the temperature of the thermal field and can be controlled by the detuning.

Abstract:We investigate a two-level atom coupled to a cavity with a strong classical driving field in a dissipative environment and find an analytical expression for the time evolution density matrix for the system. The analytical density operator is then used to study the entanglement between the atom and cavity by considering the competing process between the atom–field interactions and the field–environment interactions. It is shown that there is an optimal interaction time for generating atom–cavity entanglement.

Abstract:The behavior of a two-level entangled atom in an optical field is studied in this paper. The interaction of an optical field and one of the entangled atoms is analyzed in detail. A general solution to the Schrödinger equation about the motion of the entangled atom is obtained. Next, the dynamic properties of the two-atom entangled system are arrived at. The properties of the action are dependent on the initial state of the atom. After detecting the entangled atom out of the field, we can obtain the state of the other atom moving in the field. It is shown that the state of the atom out of the field influences the dynamic properties of the split-levels of the atom in the field.

Abstract:In this paper we consider a system of two two-level atoms interacting with a binomial field in an ideal cavity. We investigate the time evolution of the single atom entropy squeezing, atomic inversion and the linear entropy for the present system. Furthermore, the relationship between the entropy squeezing and the entanglement is investigated. It is shown that the amounts of the nonclassical effects exhibited in the entropy squeezing are dependent on the different initial conditions. The entropy squeezing can give information on the corresponding linear entropy.

Abstract:The time evolution of entanglement and disentanglement between a Λ-type three-l evel atom and a single-mode field initially in the number state in an ideal cavi ty are investigated by considering von Neumann entropy of the optical field. Res ults indicate that entanglement of the system displays periodicity; the maximal degree of entanglement depends on the initial atomic state, the initial photon n umber and the ratio of detuning to the coupling constant, while the number of ti mes for maximal entanglement and disentanglement in a period is independent of t he initial photon number. The initial relative phase between the two lower state s have effects on the time evolution of field entropy, while the initial relativ e phases between the excited state and the ground states of the atom does not.

Abstract:In this work, the time evolution of the entropy of a single-mode field interacting with a Λ-type degenerate quantum beat three-level atom is investigated in the strong field limit. The field is assumed to be prepared in a coherent state. The results show that the initial atomic state and the detuning of the field play important roles in the evolution of the field entropy and the generation of a Schrödinger cat state at the half-revival time of the atomic inversion needs strict conditions. The squeezing properties of the field are also explored, and some new conclusions are obtained.

Abstract:The position- and momentum-entopic squeezing properties of the optical field in the system of a nearly degenerate three-level atom interacting with a single-mode field are investigated. Calculation results indicate that when the field is initially in the vacuum state, it may lead to squeezing of the position entropy or the momentum entropy of the field if the atom is prepared properly. The effects of initial atomic state and the splitting of the excited levels of the atom on field entropies are discussed in this case. When the initial field is in a coherent state, we find that position-entropy squeezing of the field is present even if the atom is prepared in the ground state. By comparing the variance squeezing and entropy squeezing of the field we confirm that entropy is more sensitive than variance in measuring quantum fluctuations.

Abstract:The behavior of a two-level entangled atom in an optical field with circular polarization is studied in this paper. The interaction of an optical field and one of the entangled atoms is analyzed in detail. A general solution of the SchrAo¨Gdinger equation about the motion of the entangled atom is obtained. The properties of the action are dependent on the initial state of the atom. By detecting the entangled atom out of the field, we can obtain the state of the other atom moving in the field. It is shown that the state of the atom out of the field will influence the energies of the split-levels of the atom in the field.

Abstract:By means of the quantum theory,the interaction between two-atoms located inside a dissipative cavity and single-mode coherent field was studied.The entanglement properties,between two atoms and between two-atoms and light fields,were analyzed.In addition,the reason that the decay of the cavity field and the detuning between the atom and cavity field affect the evolution of entanglement was discussed.The results show that when there is cavity loss,entanglement between the atoms and light fields may occur,however entanglement gradually disappear in the long time limit.Also,the detuning between the atom and cavity field significantly affects the entanglement.The entanglement between two atoms initially in the maximally entangled states is gradually weakened due to the decay of the light field,but the detuning between the atom and the cavity field can inhibit this decay.

Abstract:The effects of initial field state and thermal environment on quantum nonlocality and linear entropy in an atom-field coupling system are investigated. We found that if the cavity is lossless and the reservoir is in vacuum, the atom-field state can exhibit quantum nonlocality periodically and the linear entropies of the atom and the field also oscillate periodically with a period the same as that of quantum nonlocality. And if the cavity dissipation is very weak and the average photon number of the reservoir is very small, the quantum nonlocality will be lost and the linear entropies of the atom and the field oscillate with a decreasing amplitude. The rapidity of the loss of the quantum nonlocality depends on the amplitude of the initial squeezed coherent state, the cavity damping constant kappa. and the average photon number N of the thermal reservoir. The stronger the field and the larger the constant kappa and the average photon number N could be, the more rapidly the nonlocality decreases.

Abstract:We investigate the entanglement dynamics and coherence loss of a two-level atom dispersively interacting with two coherent fields in a dissipative cavity by using the concurrence and linear entropy, respectively. It is shown that the atomic coherence can lead to entanglement between the atom and one mode while the two modes are always separable. We also find that there is long-lived coherence loss as the system evolves.

Abstract:We study the entanglement evolution of two three-level atoms in a fermionic environment. Our results show that the entanglement evolution depends not only on the strength of the interaction between the system and environment， but also on the structure of states. For the cases of concern， we find that the stronger the interaction between the system and environment is， the faster the entanglement of the system decreases. The entanglement of pure quantum states vanishes completely when the time goes to infinity; while for the mixed state，the entanglement will be completely destroyed by decoherence in finite time. The decoherence-free subspace S DF has been identified by using linear entropy to measure decoherence. A density matrix that only can be expanded by the elements of S DF does not perceive the presence of the environment and the entanglement and its linear entropy remain unchangeable. Our analysis will shed some light on the effect of a fermionic environment on the entanglement of bosonic systems.
