Abstract:Objective: To analyze the effects of Mycoplasma Urealytium (UU) and antisperm antibody (AsAb) on semen parameters and to investigate the correlation between UU infection and AsAb in male infertility. Methods: Semen of 303 cases of male infertility were examined for UU by cultivation and AsAb in semen were simultaneously detected by mixed antiglobulin reaction (MAR). Results: Sperm motility in UU and AsAb positive group was lower than that in UU and AsAb negative group, while no significant difference of sperm concentration was found. The positive rate of UU in the AsAb positive group was higher than that in the AsAb negative group. After treatment with effective antibiotics the sperm motility improved in UU positive group, and the AsAb positive rate decreased. Conclusion: UU and AsAb could affect main semen parameters such as sperm motiliy and may be important causes of male infertility. Infection with UU seems likely one of the important factors of AsAb production.
