Effect of Flame-Retardants Additive on the Flame Retardancy of Rigid Polyurethane Foam

Abstract:The effect of flame-retardants additive Tri(β-chlorocthyl)phosphate(TCEP) on the flame retardancy of rigid polyurethane foam(RPUF) was investigated.The experimental results show that Limited oxygen index(LOI) values are increased with the increase content of TCEP and density of RPUF.Adding of flame-retardants changes structure of RPUF.SEM and thermal analysis(TG) were used for investigation of the combustion behavior of flame-retardant RPUF.It is shown that the TCEP is decomposed at a lower temperature,which makes RPUF unstable at early stage.With the flame of RPUF,the decomposition residuals are arisen from charring of flame-retardant RPUF,and the flame retardant properties of RPUF are thus improved.
