Abstract:The robust stability for neutral systems with time-varying delay and uncertainties is investigated in this paper. Two kinds of uncertainties including nonlinear perturbation and norm-bounded uncertainty are considered here. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii function that splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval is constructed. Using the Jensen inequality, some new delay-dependent robustly absolute stability criteria are presented in terms of strict linear matrix inequalities (LMI). Neither model transformation nor bounding technique for cross terms is required in obtaining the stability conditions. The neutral-delay and discrete-delay are taken into account. The numerical examples illustrate the effectiveness.

Abstract:Abstract This note concerns the delay-dependent robust stability analysis for uncertain singular time-delay systems. The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be norm-bounded and possibly time-varying, while the time delay considered here is assumed to be constant but unknown. By using a new Lyapunov-krasovskii functional which splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval, some delay-dependent conditions are presented for the singular time-delay system to be regular, impulse free and robustly stable. The obtained delay-dependent criteria are effective and less conservative than previous ones, which are illustrated by numerical examples.

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization for a class of uncertain networked control systems (NCSs) with nonlinearities satisfying a given sector condition is investigated in this paper. By introducing a new model of NCSs with parameter uncertainty, network-induced delay, nonlinearity and data packet dropout in the transmission, a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) criterion is proposed for robust stabilization of the uncertain nonlinear NCSs based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The maximum allowable transfer interval (MATI) can be derived by solving the feasibility problem of the corresponding LMI. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm.

The parameter uncertainty is assumed to be norm-bounded and possibly time-varying. By using a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional which splits the whole delay interval into two subintervals and defines a different energy function on each subinterval, a suitable state feedback control law is obtained, which guarantees the singular time-delay system to be regular, impulse free and robustly stable for all admissible uncertainties. The new delay-dependent criteria are formulated in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Numerical example is given to show the effectiveness and less conservativeness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The problem of robust control for discrete time-delay systems with norm-bounded uncertainties was studied. A new sufficient condition of delay-dependent robust stabilizability was derived by introducing a zero formula and free weighting matrices. An explicit expression of the desired controller was also developed based on the solution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Without any system transformation or inequalities to estimate the upper bound of the cross terms in the forward difference of Lyapunov functional, the corresponding conservatism on the stability condition is reduced. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of design procedure.

Abstract:This paper deals with the problem of delay-dependent robust stability of a class of uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems. The considered systems are subject to norm-bounded parameter uncertainties and constant time delay. A new approach is introduced to take the relationship between the fast and slow subsystems of a discrete singular time-delay system, based on which, a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) criterion is obtained for a discrete singular time-delay system to be regular, causal and stable. The result on robust stability of uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems is also obtained and expressed in terms of LMIs. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed method

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of robust exponential stability analysis for uncertain discrete recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays. In terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, some novel stability conditions are proposed via a new Lyapunov function. Neither any model transformation nor free-weighting matrices are employed in our theoretical derivation. The established stability criteria significantly improve and simplify some existing stability conditions. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract:The problem of robust exponential stability analysis for nonlinear uncertain interval neural networks with time delay is investigated. The nonlinear uncertainties are assumed to satisfy the cone constraint conditions. The interval parameters of the neural networks are equivalent to norm matched parameter uncertainties via some matrix transformations. The stable criteria for the uncertain interval neural networks with time delays are developed by use of the Lyapunov stability theory. All the stability conditions in this paper are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities.

Abstract:Recently, there are several papers discussing global robust stability of the equilibrium point for the interval delayed neural networks. However, we find these criteria are not accurate. In this paper, based on Linear Matrix Inequality (LMI) technique, we propose an algorithm to determine in which region the interval delayed system is globally robust stabile. This approach is much more powerful than the criteria given in previous papers. We also give a numerical example to illustrate the viability of our algorithm.

Abstract:The robust stability of neutral systems with time-varying discrete delay and norm-bounded uncertainties is studied. Firstly, a new variable is introduced to replace the uncertainties of the systems. Then, by constructing a new Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, using integral inequality and introducing free weighting matrices, we derive a new asymp-totic stability criterion in terms of the linear matrix inequality(LMI). The obtained criterion takes into account the neutral delay, discrete delay and the derivative of the discrete delay. This result is less conservative than some existing results. Fi-nally, numerical examples demonstrate the improvements over existing results, and show the relationship among the neutral delay, discrete delay and the derivative of discrete delay.

Abstract:This paper aims to design a controller to robustly stabilize uncertain Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy systems with time-varying input delay. Based on Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional approach, the sufficient conditions for robust stabilization of such systems are given in the form of linear matrix inequalities. The controller design does not have to require that the time-derivative of time-varying input delay be smaller than one. A numeric example is given to show that the proposed results are effective and less conservative.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the delay-dependent stability and robust stability criteria for linear systems with time-varying delay and norm-bounded uncertainties. Through constructing a general form of Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional, and using integral inequalities, some slack matrices and newly established convex combination condition in the calculation, the delay-dependent stability criteria are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. Abstract:This paper investigates the problem of robust passive control for networked fuzzy systems, where randomly occurring uncertainties, variable sampling intervals, and constant network-induced delay are taken into account. A discontinuous Lyapunov functional is introduced for the closed-loop systems, which takes full advantage of the sawtooth structure of the time-varying interval delay induced by sample-and-hold and signal transmission. A sufficient condition is proposed to ensure the closed-loop system to be robustly stochastically passive. Then, the problem of robust passive control is solved. Two examples are utilized to illustrate the advantages and effectiveness of the results that are proposed in this paper.

Abstract:A new robust delay-dependent stability criterion for a class of uncertain systems with delay is established based-on Park inequality. The result for robust delay-dependent stability is presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) by using Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional method. By this result, we give an estimate of the maximum admissible delay, which can be transformed into a generalized eigenvalue problem. Furthermore, a mixed delay stability criterion for this class of uncertain systems with multi-delays is obtained. Finally, two numerical examples are also worked out to illustrate the efficiency and feasibility of the present result.

Abstract:The global robust stability of uncertain delayed fuzzy cellular neural networks (UDFCNNs) was analyzed in this paper. The major results of this paper provided some new criteria for the existence and uniqueness of the equilibrium point of UDFCNN. Furthermore, suitable Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals was designed for obtaining the adequate conditions for the global asymptotic robust stability and global exponential robust stability of UDFCNN. Finally, several numerical examples was provided to verify the validity of the results.

Without introducing the free-weighting matrices to deal with the cross terms, a new and improved delay-dependent condition is established for the nominal systems to be regular, causal, and stable via a new Lyapunov function employing the integrated lower and upper time-delay bounds. The condition is also extended to the uncertain case. A numerical example is given to illustrate that the proposed methods are effective and lead to less conservatism than the existing ones.
