Abstract:An accounting provenance service (APS) is proposed to supply a generic facility to various grid accounting systems by separating the collection of accounting data from accounting policies. Accounting templates and report-pool are subtly employed to cope with the description and retrieval of accounting data respectively, enriching APS with great adaptability to diverse accounting environments. Based on the unified templates generated according to heterogeneous accounting policies, dynamically forked report-groups in the report-pool could exactly record accounting issues of a grid entity, and offer the scene recurrence (so called 'provenance') of distributed flow involving multiple participants to prevent false actions of grid entities. Several potential use cases of APS in ChinaGrid are brought forward to demonstrate above features of APS, as well as its feasibility.
