Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, {[Zn(C8H4O4)(C3H4N2)(2)] .-3H(2)O}(n), the Zn-II atom is coordinated by two terephthalate dianions and two imidazole ligands in a distorted tetrahedral geometry. The terephthalate dianions are located on inversion centres and bridge neighbouring Zn-II atoms to form zigzag polymeric complex chains. The interplanar distance of 3.212 (17) Angstrom between parallel imidazole rings of adjacent polymeric chains suggests the existence of pi-pi stacking.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Co(C8H4O4)(C7H6N2)2]n, the terephthalate dianions bridge CoII ions through terminal carboxyl groups to form polymeric complex chains; one carboxyl group coordinates in a monodentate manner and the other chelates to the Co atom. Two benzimidazole ligands also coordinate to the Co atom to complete a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal coordination geometry. The crystal packing is stabilized by N—H⋯O hydrogen bonds and π–π stacking involving the benzimidazole ligands, with a face-to-face separation of 3.454 (11) Å.

Abstract:In the title polymeric complex, [Ni(C8H4O4)(C7H6N2)2(H2O)]·0.5H2O, the NiII atoms assume a distorted octahedral coordination geometry, formed by two isophthalate (ISOP) ions, two benzimidazole (BZIM) molecules and one water molecule. The ISOP dianions bridge the NiII atoms through terminal carboxy groups to form zigzag polymeric chains, which are linked to each other via hydrogen bonds. π–π stacking occurs between BZIM rings and between ISOP rings in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The title compound is a polymeric complex bridged by a phthalate dianion, [[Cd(C(8)H(4)O(4))(C(7)H(6)N(2))(2)(H(2)O)].0.5H(2)O](n). The asymmetric unit contains two Cd complex units, and both Cd(II) atoms have the same distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Each phthalate dianion bridges two Cd atoms through the two terminal carboxy groups, one in a monodentate fashion and the other in a chelating mode, thus forming zigzag polymeric chains; pi-pi stacking occurs between neighboring chains. The bond angle involving the chelating carboxy group is large, but the corresponding bond distance is normal. This implies the existence of an electrostatic interaction between the Cd(II) atoms and the carboxy groups.

Abstract:In the title complex, [Cd(C4H4O4S)(C3H4N2)(H2O)](n), the Cd-II atom is surrounded by one imidazole ligand, one water molecule and two thiodiacetate dianions in a distorted octahedral CdNO4S coordination. Each thiodiacetate dianion coordinates to two independent Cd atoms, one as a tridentate chelate, the other in a monodentate fashion through a carboxylate O atom. The thiodiacetate dianions bridge neighbouring Cd-II atoms, forming zigzag polymeric chains.

Abstract:In the polymeric title complex, [Cd(C2H4NO2)Cl-(C6H6N4S2)](n), the glycinate anions bridge neighbouring Cd-II ions to form zigzag chains along the b axis direction. The Cd-II ion is coordinated by two glycinate ions (one O-monodentate and one N, O-bidentate), a Cl- ion and a bidentate diaminobithiazole ligand in a distorted octahedral geometry. Various N-(HO)-O-... and N-(HCl)-Cl-... hydrogen bonds between adjacent complex chains help to consolidate the crystal packing.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Co(C(4)H(4)O(4))(C(9)H(7)N)(2)(H(2)O)(2)](n), the Co(II) cation, located on an inversion center, is coordinated by two succinate anions, two isoquinoline ligands and two water mol-ecules in a distorted octa-hedral geometry. The succinate anion, located across another inversion center, bridges the Co cations, forming polymeric chains running along the b axis. The partially overlapped arrangement of parallel isoquinoline ring systems of adjacent polymeric chains and the shorter face-to-face distance of 3.402 (6) Å indicates the existence of weak π-π stacking in the crystal structure. Classical intra- and inter-molecular O-H⋯O hydrogen bonding and weak non-classical inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonding help to stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract:In the title CoII polymeric complex bridged by tartrate dianions, {[Co(C4H4O6)(H2O)2]·H2O}n, the CoII atom is coordinated by two tartrate dianions and two water molecules to give a distorted octahedral geometry. The hydroxyl O atom and one O atom of each carboxyl group chelate to the CoII atom, but the other O atom of this carboxyl group is uncoordinated. The polymeric chains are linked to each other via hydrogen bonds to form cavities which are filled with solvent water molecules.

Abstract:In the polymeric title compound, [Pb(C6H4NO2)(2)-C6H6N4S2)](n), the Pb-II ion is located on a twofold axis and coordinated by one N,N'-bidentate diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligand and four O-monodentate isonicotinate anions in a very distorted cis-PbN2O4 octahedral geometry. The carboxylate group of the isonicotinate anion bridges two PbII ions, forming a polymeric chain. The complete DABT molecule is generated by twofold symmetry; its two thiazole rings are twisted with a dihedral angle of 9.5 (2)degrees. There are no pi-pi stacking interactions in the title compound, but N-H center dot center dot center dot O and N-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds help to stabilize the structure.
