Abstract:Several new 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives containing a pyrazole ring were designed and synthesized from ethyl acetoacetate and triethyl orthoformate as starting materials via multi-step reactions. The compound structures were confirmed by melting point, 1 H NMR and HRMS. They were evaluated for fungicidal and herbicidal activities. Four of the compounds exhibited moderate fungicidal activity against Colletotrichum species. Most of the compounds had moderate-to-good activity as a herbicide.

Abstract:The title compound, C(24)H(23)ClO(4), is a potent insecticide and miticide. The five-membered cyclo-pentane ring displays an envelope conformation with the atom at the flap position 0.611 (2) Å out of the mean plane formed by the other four atoms. The furan ring makes dihedral angles of 71.3 (2) and 81.9 (2)°, respectively, with the 2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl and 4-chloro-phenyl rings. The dihedral angle between the two benzene rings is 76.6 (1)°. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked through weak inter-molecular C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming chains running along the c axis.

Abstract:In the title molecule, C18H11Cl3N2O2, the central benzene ring is oriented at 8.44 (12) and 70.57 (11)degrees with respect to the terminal chlorophenol and dichloropyridine rings, respectively. The molecular structure is stabilized by an intramolecular O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bond, which generates an S(6) ring motif. In the crystal, pi-pi stacking between parallel pyridine rings is observed [centroid-centroid distance = 3.6561 (14) angstrom].

Abstract:In order to find new lead compounds with high pesticidal activity, a series of 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether compounds (5 series) were designed by using penthiopyrad as a synthon. They were synthesized easily via five steps by using ethyl 4,4,4-trifluoro-3-oxobutanoate and triethyl orthoformate as starting materials. The synthesized compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR and HRMS. The compound 2-(benzylthio)-5-(1-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (5a) was further determined by X-ray single-crystal diffraction. It crystallized in the monoclinic system, space group P21/c, Z = 4. All the 1,3,4-oxadiazole thioether derivatives were screened for fungicidal activity against ten fungi and herbicidal activity against two weeds. The bioassay results indicated that some of the synthesized 1,3,4-oxadiazole compounds exhibited good fungicidal activity (> 50% inhibition) against the plant pathogens Sclerotinia sclerotiorum and Rhizoctonia solani at 50 μg/mL. Some of them exhibited certain herbicidal activity, and compounds 2-((3-chlorobenzyl)thio)-5-(1-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (5e) and 2-((4-bromobenzyl)thio)-5-(1-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (5 g) had bleach effect. Molecular docking is to find the best fit orientation of the 2-((4-bromobenzyl)thio)-5-(1-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-4-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazole (5 g) molecule with the SDH protein (PDB: 2FBW). The docking results indicate that the compound 5 g and the lead compound penthiopyrad have similar binding interactions with SDH and carbonyl is a key group for these compounds.

Abstract:The title compound, C(24)H(30)O(7), displays a trans configuration with respect to the C=C bond. The cyclo-hexenone ring has an envelope conformation; the flap atom (with the isopropoxycarbonyl groups) is displaced by 0.664 (3) Å from the plane of the other five ring atoms and the carbonyl O atom. The dihedral angle between the cyclo-hexenone ring and the benzene ring is 7.85 (9)°. The meta and para meth-oxy O atoms are displaced by 0.003 (7) and 0.031 (4) Å, respectively, from the benzene ring to which they are attached.
