Relation of Homogeneity and Performance Variation of Asphalt Mixture

Abstract:In order to study the relationship between homogeneity and performance variation of asphalt mixture, based on digital image processing technology, using the regression method, the relationship between homogeneity of asphalt mixture and air void, dynamic stability and mechanical strength of asphalt mixture was quantitatively investigated via the index of homogeneity of asphalt mixture. The results show that correlativity exists between homogeneity of asphalt mixture and performance variation of asphalt mixture; the worse the homogeneity of asphalt mixture is, the more the performance variation of asphalt mixture is; the better the homogeneity of asphalt mixture is, the less the performance variation of asphalt mixture is, which indicates that there is an important significance to control performance variation of asphalt mixture by controlling homogeneity of asphalt mixture composition structure.
