Abstract:Though there had been many proposals to managing or saving energy for distributed sensors in wireless sensor network, we tried in a different dimension so as to enable the current available methods can benefit from our research. Our proposal reduces the communication volume with risk estimation, where historical sensing data was recorded and PERT technique had been involved. Since the monitoring sites are distributed with long distance in the sea and it is impossible to connect them with lines across the sea, all monitoring sites are connected with a wireless network. The historical temperature data from each sensor network was recorded in the central control machine. Since the temperature data is consecutive changing data, the historical data is supposed to be distributed in the curve of Gaussian. The probability of the temperature changes for each monitoring sites are analyzed and the involved interval is decided. Here in this paper, several formulas are proposed and the interval is analyzed so as to determine the suitable interval with the tradeoff between the communication volume and the possible of mission the temperature sensing. The dynamic temperature data is used to adjust the distributing function so as to match the environment adaptively. The research work has been evaluated with a simulation, and the results showed that the communication volume reduced significant while there was very little delay of temperature change. The protocol turned out to be effective and efficient in energy saving.
