Abstract:Sheath nematodes of the genus Hemicycliophora are migratory root-ectoparasites of many crops, but the damage is documented for only a few species. Hemicycliophora subbotini n. sp., isolated in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, China, from the rhizosphere of camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora (L.) Presl), is described and characterized morphologically and molecularly with important morphological details elucidated by SEM studies. The new species can be characterized by the conoid lip region, with bulging oral disc protruding beyond the first annulus in some specimens. Oral disc narrow ovate, amphidial apertures covered by lateral plates, lying in the same plane as oral disc when observed en face. Stylet 118 (108-125) μm long and flexible, stylet knobs concave shaped having a slight cavity. The excretory pore is located 1-2 annuli posterior to the base of pharyngeal bulb. Vulval lips slightly modified with small vulval sleeve, spermatheca rounded to oblong. Anus located 18 (15-22) annuli posterior to vulva. Tail elongated, with conoid or slightly offset spike having a narrowly rounded terminus. The study provides the first description of a new Hemicycliophora species from China. Phylogenetic analyses based on D2-D3 expansion segments of the 28S and ITS fragments revealed the new species forming a separate clade from other Hemicycliophora species which supported the status as a new species of this genus.

Abstract:One new genus and species, Paramacrosteles nigromaculatus gen. et sp. nov. of subfamily Euscelinae is described from China, and is placed in Macrostelini. The genus is similar to Macrosteles Fieber in general appearance, but can be distinguished from the latter by having the aedeagus at apex with two paired fork-shape projections. Type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China. (IEGUC).

Abstract:Cuspidevia Jäch & Boukal, 1995 is a member of the tribe Macronychini which has the following features: antennae short, 6-10 segmented, aedeagus long and cylindrical, paramere very small, slender or lacking. This genus currently comprises only three species. All species are distributed in China. Cuspidevia pilosus sp. nov. is reported from Guangdong, Guangxi and Jiangxi Provinces in China. Habitus and diagnostic features of the new species are illustrated.

Abstract:A new species of soft scale insect (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) belonging to the genus Paralecanium Cockerell & Bueker, P. sabia Tan, Meng & Xing sp. n., is described and illustrated. It was found on the leaves of Sabia swinhoei Hemsl (Sabiaceae) in Guizhou Maolan National Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. Habitat photographs and illustrations are provided. The type material of P. sabia sp. n. is deposited at the Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, China (GUGC) and in the insect collection at the Department of Forestry Protection, Beijing Forestry University, Beijing, China (NFUC). An identification key to separate the 28 species in Paralecanium, based on the morphology of adult females, is provided.

Abstract:A new aphid species, Chaitoregma kirlia sp. nov. , from Fujian and Guangdong, China, is described, which feeds on bamboo. The diagnostic morphological characteristics of the new species are described and illustrated. A key to apterous viviparous females of Chaitoregma species is provided. The COI barcode sequence of this new species is also provided. Due to its unique morphological characteristics, the diagnosis of the genus has been revised. Other species within the genus are also reviewed and discussed.

Abstract:Four new species of the genus Cicurina are described: C. daweishanensis spec. nov. (female), C. kekei spec. nov. (male and female), C. lichuanensis spec. nov. (male and female) and C. yuelushanensis spec. nov. (male and female). Photos of body and copulatory organs, line drawings of copulatory organs, as well as the locality map are provided. The type specimens of Cicurina eburnata Wang, 1994 were reexamined for the comparison of allied species. Photos of C. calyciforma Wang Xu, 1989 are also presented in order to compare it with two new species.

Abstract:A new species Serangium xinpingensis Huang & Wang, sp. nov. is described from Yunnan Province, China, as a newly discovered predator on Bemisia tabaci Gennadius ( Hemiptera , Sternorrhyncha , Aleyrodidae ). The new species is a valuable addition to the 14 species of this genus in China known before. Abstract:A new species of inquiline, Lithosaphonecrus edurus Fang, Melika, and Tang, new species (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae: Synergini) is described from Emeishan, Sichuan Province, China. Lithosaphonecrus edurus is associated with an as yet undetermined cynipid gall on Lithocarpus cleistocarpus var. cleistocarpus and var. omeiensis, L. hancei and L. megalophyllus (Fagaceae). Description, diagnosis, phenology, and host association for the new species are given. The new species is supported by morphological and molecular data.

Abstract:The dikraneurine leafhopper genus Anaka is reviewed based on a comparative morphological study. Five new species, Anaka auricula sp. nov. , Anaka cruciata sp. nov. , Anaka curvata sp. nov. , Anaka rosacea sp. nov. , and Anaka spiralis sp. nov. from China are described and illustrated in detail. Abstract:Two species of Cathaica Möllendorff, 1884 are described from eastern China, C. pyrrhozona montana (Möllendorff, 1875) from Beijing and a new species, C. zoui Wu, n. sp., from Jinan, Shandong Province. The new species is conchologically similar to Cathaica fasciola (Draparnaud, 1801). The new species and C. p. montana, a subspecies of C. pyrrhozona (Philippi, 1845), the type species of Cathaica, share a similar structure of the dart-sac apparatus, in having one proximal accessory sac on the right side of dart sac, both mucous glands and the proximal accessory sac entering the dart-sac chamber. However, the distance between the dart-sac septum and the entrance of the mucous glands is distinctly shorter in the new species than that in C. p. montana. The genital anatomy of these two taxa suggests that the structure of the inside of the dart-sac apparatus deserves special attention of understanding systematics of the bradybaenine snails. In addition, the presence of dense cilia on the septum of the dart sac in the new species is newly reported for the subfamily Bradybaeninae.

Abstract:The genus Macrosemia Kato, 1925 (Hemiptera, Cicadidae, Cicadinae, Dundubiini, Dundubiina) currently includes 16 species (excluding subspecies and varieties), mainly occurring in the Oriental Region. More than half of them, 10 species, are known from China, including one new species, described in the present study. A new species of cicada, Macrosemia fengi Wang sp. nov. , is described from Yunnan and Guizhou, southwest China. Colour plates are presented to illustrate its diagnostic characters. The distribution map of the new species is also given.
