Abstract:A 3-D impedance method has been introduced to compute the electric currents induced in a human body exposure to high voltage transmission lines. Firstly, the magnetic flux of the transmission lines and their images can be calculated analytically at any location as well as measured. Secondly, the visible human body model taking into account in the simulation has been discretized as 196×114×626 cells and marked as more than 40 types of tissue. Finally, the 3-D impedance method has been introduced Into the computation effectively. As the result, two representative cases are investigated. One is lineman working on a 44 kV 1200 A power line (0.3 m away from closest conductors). The maximum of induced current in lineman body is 6.1 mA/m2. The other case is dweller live near a power line (15 m below closest conductors). The maximum of induced current for dweller is 0.00008 mA/m2 respectively.
