Abstract:A novel compact dual-linearly polarized and dual-band (DPDB) antenna, operating B1 (0.8–1.0 GHz), B2 (1.70–1.88 GHz), B3 (1.91–2.17 GHz) and B4 (2.3–2.4 GHz) bands, is presented in this paper. The EM simulated models for its radiation element and its feed network, are developed. The antenna can cover GSM, DCS and E-UMTS spectrums. Its 10 dB return loss and 30 dB port isolations are obtained and verified by measurements. It is shown that this antenna is very suitable for cellular communication.

Abstract:A miniaturized quasi-lumped element multiplayer duplexer is designed and fabricated using a standard low-temperature co-fired ceramic (LTCC) technique for application of GSM/DCS communication system. Several transmission zeros are specially introduced to provide sharp slope sides and enhance the isolation between the lowpass and highpass channels. An additional transmission zero is located in the stopband of lowpass filter to improve the high frequency rejection. The expected superior performance is validated by the measured S-parameters, which are in good agreement with the simulated results. The duplexer has the advantages of compactness, high integration, and low cost.
Dual-band Antenna on Miniature Equipment

Abstract:A dual-band antenna for miniature devices with a size 30mm×30mm×15mm is proposed in this paper.The longest dimension of the device is less than one-tenth of a wavelength corresponding to the lowest frequency.The ground and the antenna are designed to support the low band mode and the high band mode respectively.By adopting folded and divided ground,the performance at the low band is improved.With the assistance of a matching circuit,a dual-band GSM900(880～960 MHz)and GSM1800(1710～1880 MHz)antenna is eventually achieved.A prototype antenna is fabricated and measured.The simulated and measured results agree well.

Abstract:In this paper, a miniaturized printed dipole antenna with the V-shaped ground is proposed for radio frequency identification ( RFID) readers operating at the frequency of 2.45 GHz. The principles of the microstrip balun and the printed dipole are analyzed and design considerations are formulated. Through extending and shaping the ground to reduce the coupling between the balun and the dipole, the antenna's impedance bandwidth is broadened and the antenna's radiation pattern is improved. The 3D finite difference time domain ( FDTD) Electromagnetic simulations are carried out to evaluate the antenna's performance. The effects of the extending angle and the position of the ground are investigated to obtain the optimized parameters. The antenna was fabricated and measured in a microwave anechoic chamber. The results show that the proposed antenna achieves a broader impedance bandwidth, a higher forward radiation gain and a stronger suppression to backward radiation compared with the one without such a ground.

Abstract:Abstract- This paper presents a novel design of compact antenna that covers the frequency from 470MHz to 770MHz (DVBH application). The design is based on a monopole antenna and a reconfigurable matching network. The antenna has a dimension of 28.4x21.6x17.5 mm3. It is installed into a device with a volume of 115x74x16 mm3. The matching network consists of switches, capacitors and inductors, and can be reconfigured to eight schemes. Accordingly, the antenna can be dynamically tuned to eight different frequency bands within the whole band. These separate bands combine to cover the ISDB-T frequency range, with good antenna performance.

Abstract:A miniaturized quad-band printed antenna fed by microstrip line is designed. The antenna consists of a semi-circle ring, a U-shaped, a G-shaped, and a T-shaped radiation units. The T-shaped patch is embedded in the ring monopole, which makes the antenna structure compact. It can provide four separate impedance bandwidths. The simulated and measured results illustrate the 10dB impedance bandwidth of the antenna from 2.370 to 2.483GHz, 3.300 to 3.747 GHz, 5.395 to 6.08GHz, and 8.010 to 8.990GHz, covering the 2.45/5.8GHz WLAN, 3.5GHz WiMAX, and the partial X bands.

Abstract:A method for miniaturization of shortwave antennas is proposed.A miniaturized shortwave antenna which works at the band of 3—15 MHz,based on dipole antenna,with top-lumped components compound loading structure is designed,then combined multi-heical structure is chosen for optimizing.The antenna has got a size scope of 2 m×2 m×2 m.Simulated by the commercial software Microwave Studio of CST Corporation,the total efficiency of the antenna is above-20 dB in the whole 3—15 MHz band.This antenna has got the advantages of small size,simple structure and high efficiency and so on.It is applicable in the fields of broadcasting,environment monitoring,radar detecting and so on.

Abstract:This paper presents a dual-band antenna array with high gain and miniaturized structure which can be applicated to 5G communication systems. The antenna array is composed of two monopole elements. By protruding the ground branches in the metal plane of the antenna array, the isolation between these two elements has been improved greatly and the size has been reduced. The fabricated sample is measured and the results are in perfect accordance with simulation. These results show the designed antenna array with dual operating frequency band from 3.23 GHz to 4.16 GHz and from 4.6 GHz to 5.54 GHz. Its isolation is lower than -15 dB which covers the middle-frequency band of commercial 5G system. Especially, the size of proposed antenna array is 42×34×1.6 mm 3 only. It can be used in handheld wireless devices in the 5G application.

Abstract:A compact small-size coupled-fed antenna with two symmetrical printed meandered inductive strips as two distributed inductors for seven-band operation covering the GSM850/900/1800//1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500 bands in the internal mobile handset application is proposed. Wideband operation is achieved by incorporating a feeding strip and two radiating strips of different lengths, which are both disposed on the no-ground board space of the proposed antenna. The desired lower bands of GSM850/900 operation can be achieved by the two radiating strips of different lengths, which provide a quarter-wavelength dual-resonance mode at 810 and 962 MHz. While the feeding strip can provide a quarter-wavelength resonant mode at around 1.78 GHz, and other resonant modes at 2.45 GHz are contributed by the higher-order resonant modes of the two radiating strips, covering the desired upper bands of DCS1800/PCS1900/UMTS2100/LTE2300/2500 operation. In addition, the proposed antenna only occupies a planar size of 15 x 30 mm(2) and is easily printed on one surface of a FR4 substrate, which makes it suitable for practical mobile applications. Detailed considerations of the design and main parameters are studied in this communication and the proposed antenna is successfully simulated, fabricated, and measured.

Abstract:In this article, we propose a design and on‐board measuring approach for the realization of micro‐sized differential antennas for the 2.4‐GHz mobile payment (MP) applications. Exampled by a complete realization of a 3 × 11 mm2‐sized differential antenna driven by a commercial 2.4‐GHz transceiver integrated inside a 15 × 11 mm2‐sized micro‐SD card, such design and testing approach is described in detail. The experimental measurements of the micro‐sized antenna show that the impedance of the designed micro‐sized differential antenna well matches the complex impedance of the transceiver, and, therefore, ensure the stability of the radio frequency performance required by the MP applications. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Abstract:A compact design of an integrated Tri-band antenna with different polarizations and radiation patterns is proposed in this paper. The antenna structure is composed of two stacked boards that the upper board is a monopolar wire patch with two symmetrical slots and the lower board is a square patch with four rectangular slots. The monopolar wire patch can provide stable conical radiation patterns with vertical polarization within the GSM 850/900, and DCS1800/PCS1900 bands while the side length of the monopolar wire patch is 46mm and the antenna height is 10nun Also, the square patch shows good circular polarization characteristic for GPS application at Ll bands and provide broadside radiation pattern. The isolation between communication and navigation ports is well above 25 dB within the working frequency bands.

Abstract:A frequency-reconfigurable antenna is presented for multiband (GSM850/900/GLONASS1616/DCS1800/PCS 1900/UMTS/LTE2300/2500/WLAN) mobile handset applications. It mainly consists of radiating elements with two PIN diodes. By switching the ON/OFF states of the PIN diodes, the proposed structure can operate in three states: OFF-ON, ON-OFF, and ON-ON. When PIN diodes are in the OFF-ON states, the proposed antenna can cover the GSM850/900, PCS1900, and UMTS2100 bands by operating in Invented-F antenna (IFA) mode. When PIN diodes are in the ON-OFF states, the antenna can cover the LTE2300/2500 and WLAN2400 bands in monopole mode. Moreover, when PIN diodes are switched to the ON-ON states, the designed antenna works in loop mode and its resonant frequencies include the GLONASS1616, DCS1800/1900, and LTE2500 bands. With the reconfigurable technique, the proposed antenna achieves a compact size of 15 x 28.5 mm(2) with high efficiency from 34% to 84.86% in the total frequency range.

Abstract:As one of the most important components in wireless communication system, antenna’s size is a limit to its further development. Two kinds of novel Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) antenna is proposed, which is base on conventional dipole antenna. Through arms carried by bending or simply fractal, its size and electrical length can be decreased compared with the same frequency of the antenna. These two kinds of symmetric antennas can realize miniaturization and dual band. Because of its small size, it could be employed by smart home. And we make change and optimization to symmetric model of the existing antennas through a large number of simulation analyses. The experiment on the processing objects shows the antennas have a good performance.

Abstract:A compact printed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for tetraband (GSM900/1800/1900/UMTS) mobile handset application is presented. The proposed MIMO antenna, which consists of two coupled-fed loop antennas with symmetrical configuration, was printed on a 120 * 60 * 0.8mm(3) Fr-4 substrate of relative permittivity of 4.4, loss tangent 0.02. Each element antenna requires only a small area of 22.5 * 25mm(2) on the circuit board. The edge-to-edge spacing between the two elements is only 0.03.0 of 920 MHz. A slot and a dual-inverted-L-shaped ground branch were added in the ground plane to decrease the mature coupling between the antenna elements. The measured isolation of the proposed antenna is better than 15 dB among the four operating frequency bands. The simulated 3D radiation patterns at 900 MHz and 1900 MHz of both antenna elements show that two loop antennas in general cover complementary space regions with good diversity performance. Detailed antenna impedance matching performance comparisons were done to evaluate the benefit of using different decoupling technology. The envelop correlation coefficient is calculated to represent the diversity performance of the MIMO antenna.

Abstract:A novel compact planar antenna is presented in this letter, which can operate in five bands: GSM (890-960 MHz), DCS (1710-1880 MHz), PCS (1850-1990 MHz), UMTS (1920-2170 MHz), and WLAN (2400-2484 MHz). Consisting of three resonant branches and one tuning branch, the antenna occupies an area of 38.5 times 15 mm 2 . Due to its two-dimensional (2-D) structure, the antenna is directly printed on the circuit board with low cost, and can be easily integrated with other parts of the circuits of mobile handsets. A prototype has been fabricated and tested, and the experimental results validate the design procedure

Abstract:A novel antenna composed of three monopoles is investigated first in this paper. In the frequency range 775 - 1910 MHz, the return loss is lower than -10 dB. Meanwhile the radiation patterns are omnidirectional. On this basis, bending top, fractal, coplanar, and loaded structures are applied to realize the miniaturization. Finally, the dimension and performance of the antennas are compared. The results demonstrate that the above-mentioned structures can realize the dimension miniaturization as well as maintain the electrical properties. The frequency range of the antennas proposed in this paper includes all the CDMA and GSM-band network frequency and realizes "one-antenna, two-network, and four-frequency". Therefore they can be applied to mobile telecommunications terminal equipment.
Novel Miniaturized Octaband Antenna for LTE Smart Handset Applications

Abstract:A novel octaband LTE mobile phone antenna is presented, which has a compact size with the overall dimension of 35 mm × 9 mm × 3 mm. The miniaturized octaband antenna is implemented by a simple prototype of three parts which include a folded monopole as feeding element, main radiator element, and parasitic radiator element. The main and parasitic radiator elements are excited by the folded monopole feeding element coupling and shorting to the handset ground plane. A wide bandwidth in low-frequency bands covering from 747 MHz to 960 MHz (LTE Band13/GSM850/GSM900) is contributed by both main and parasitic radiator elements. In addition, the folded monopole is designed to resonate at 2530 MHz, and the coupling between the feeding element and main radiator element is designed to resonate at 1840 MHz. Subsequently, the wide bandwidth in high-frequency bands covering from 1710 MHz to 2690 MHz (DCS1800/PCS1900/WCDMA2100/LTE2300/LTE2500) is contributed by both structures. The antenna has the total efficiency up to 30% in low bands and up to 75% in high bands, respectively. At the same time, the proposed miniaturized octaband LTE mobile phone antenna is fabricated and tested to verify the design.
