Abstract:Nitriles were unexpectedly trimerized into s-triazines or amino-pyrimidines in high yields in the presence of catalytic amount of Li 3 N, resulting in a simple, solvent-free and easy-to-scale-up one-pot way to synthesize s-triazines and 4-amino-pyrimidines with high yield.

Abstract:Cu-II-catalysed diazo transfer and Cu-I-catalysed azide-alkyne 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition (CuAAC) "click chemistry" were used to synthesis C7N aminocyclitol-derivatised 1,2,3-triazoles. In the course of this work, the -N=N- moiety was transferred onto C7N aminocyclitols such as validamine, valienamine and valiolamine by employing imidazole-1-sulfonyl azide as the diazo transfer reagent with catalysis by Cu-II, Zn-II and Ni-II, in moderate to good yields. The obtained azidocyclitols were coupled with various terminal alkynes under modified Meldal's conditions with good to excellent yields. The stereo- and regiochemistry of the products were confirmed by 2D-NMR (NOESY and HMBC). One-pot syntheses of the corresponding 1,2,3-triazoles, as safer and more efficient procedures, were also investigated and gave moderate to good yields.

Abstract:The first catalytic cycloamidination of aminoalkenes with nitriles has been achieved by using rare-earth complexes. This reaction is equivalent to the desired intramolecular hydroamination of alkenylamidines, and allows a new direct access to substituted 2-imidazolines and tetrahydropyrimidines in high yields under operationally simple reaction conditions. Moreover, the methodology is also efficient for synthesis of symmetric and unsymmetric bridged diimidazolines. Compared with the traditional stepwise-mediated synthetic approaches, the present method avoids the use of additives and harsh reaction conditions, and thus leads to a completely different product distribution. Mechanistic data suggest that the reaction involves the initial NH activation by lanthanide complex followed by nitrile insertion into a Ln-N bond to form an amidinate lanthanide intermediate which undergoes the cyclization.

Abstract:A regioselective electrochemical C–H amination method to synthesize N2-substituted 1,2,3-triazole using easily accessible ethers has been developed. Various substituents, including heterocycles, have a good tolerance, and 24 examples were obtained in moderate to good yields. Control experiments and DFT calculation investigations demonstrate that the electrochemical synthesis undergoes a N-tosyl 1,2,3-triazole radical cation process promoted by the single-electron transfer of the lone pair electrons of the aromatic N-heterocycle, and the desulfonation is responsible for the high N2-regioselectivity.

Abstract:A magnetically separable core-shell-shell nanosphere, Fe3O4@nSiO(2)-SO3H@MS-NHCOCH3 (n = nonporous, MS = microporous SiO2), was fabricated as an acid-base collaborative catalyst for the three-component cyclization of aromatic aldehydes, nitroalkane, and sodium azide to afford 1H-1,2,3-triazoles. The bifunctional heterogeneous catalyst showed high activity for this transformation and good chemoselectivity, and toxic HN3 was not released during the course of the reaction. A variety of aldehydes were transformed into the corresponding 5-aryl-1H-1,2,3-triazoles in up to 98% yield. Furthermore, the catalyst could be recovered by using an external magnetic field and reused many times without any loss in activity. In contrast, a homogeneous catalyst system comprising ammonium acetate/acetic acid also worked in this three-component cyclization to afford 1H-1,2,3-triazoles.

Abstract:An atom-efficient, straightforward method for the synthesis of 2,4,6-triaryl-1,3,5-triazines via iron-catalyzed cyclization of aldehydes with NH4I as the sole nitrogen source is demonstrated. This strategy works smoothly under air atmosphere, and affords symmetrical 2,4,6-trisubstituted and unsymmetrical 1,3,5-triazines with yields from 18% to 72%. Compared to other methods, the present protocol provides a straightforward and atom-efficient approach to 2,4,6-trisubstituted 1,3,5-triazines using an inexpensive, easily available ammonium salt as the sole nitrogen source. Research into the preliminary mechanism indicates that N-benzylidenebenzimidamides are involved in this cyclization reaction.

Abstract:The solvent‐free synthesis of 1,2,4‐triazols from N‐tosylhydrazonyl chlorides and nitriles at room temperature was developed. The transformation was suitable for a wide spectrum of substrates, and the acid‐promoted cyclization mechanism was proposed. 1,2,4‐Triazols represent important heterocyclic compounds which have found extensive application in the pharmaceutical agrochemical and material industries. Herein, we reported an acid‐promoted solvent‐free synthesis of 1,2,4‐triazols from N‐tosylhydrazonyl chlorides and nitriles at room temperature. Various N‐tosylhydrazonyl chlorides and nitriles were examined, and the transformation was suitable for a wide spectrum of substrates. Two simple acid‐promoted cyclization pathways were proposed for the transformation.

Abstract:Copper-catalyzed intermolecular annulation of 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines and aryl nitriles for the synthesis of [1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a][1,3,5]triazines via N-C bond formation and oxidative N-N coupling [oxidative 3 + 2 cyclization] is presented. A wide range of aryl nitriles, including electron-rich benzonitriles, electron-poor benzonitriles, 2-cyanothiophene, and 4-cyanopyridine, were all functionalized with 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines. Furthermore, amidation of 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines via Cu-catalyzed C-CN bond cleavage of phenylacetonitriles is also demonstrated. The reaction occurred in moderate to satisfactory yields and tolerated alkyl- or aryl-substituted 2-amine-[1,3,5]triazines. Aniline, aminopyridine, and aminopyrimidine also afforded the desired products.

Abstract:Abstract A divergent efficient assembly of disubstituted 1,2,4-triazoles was established by cyclization of readily accessible N′-nitro-2-hydrocarbylidene-hydrazinecarboximidamides with moderate to excellent yields under mild reaction conditions. This divergent synthetic strategy was achieved simply by varying the reaction conditions. Under acidic conditions, amino-1,2,4-triazoles were obtained by an intramolecular redox reaction involving the NO2 group. Control experiments and DFT studies revealed that this transformation proceeds via an intramolecular 1,3-hydride transfer pathway leading to HNO2 elimination. Under neutral conditions with water as the solvent, nitroimino-1,2,4-triazoles were obtained by oxidative intramolecular annulation under air.

Abstract:We report a Cu(II)-catalyzed C-H amidation/cyclization of azomethine imines with dioxazolones as acyl nitrene transfer reagents under additive- and ligand-free conditions. An array of 1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyridine derivatives were afforded in moderate to good yields with excellent functional group tolerance. In addition, scale-up reaction and photoluminescence properties were discussed.

Abstract:In this study, TiO2−Bis[TMS−NH2+ C(NO2)3−] as an efficient, heterogeneous and recyclable nano‐catalyst was introduced, then, the catalytic activity of this reagent was investigated in the promotion of the synthesis of 1,2,4‐triazolo[4,3‐a]pyrimidines. In the current study, N1‐N4‐bis (3‐(trimethoxysilyl) propyl) butane‐1,4‐diammonium trinitromethanide on titanium dioxide {TiO2−Bis [TMS−NH2+ C(NO2)3−]} was synthesized and characterized using a variety of techniques including energy dispersive X‐ray analysis (EDX), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA), field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), and X‐ray diffraction (XRD). Then TiO2−Bis [TMS−NH2+ C(NO2)3−] was used as an efficient nano‐catalyst in the one‐pot synthesis of 1,2,4‐triazolo[4,3‐a] pyrimidine derivatives at 120 °C under the solvent‐free conditions with good to excellent yields. Easy separation of the products from the catalyst, short period of the reaction times, and reusability of the catalyst are among the most important features of the reported method.

Abstract:In this work, a series of 4-aryl-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1 H -1,2,4-triazol-5(4 H )-one derivatives is synthesized through nucleophilic intramolecular cyclization reactions of ethyl 2-(2,2,2-trifluoro-1-(arylimino)ethyl)hydrazine-1-carboxylate intermediates, which are themselves prepared in high yields via reactions of ethyl chloroformate and N -aryl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetimidoyl chloride derivatives. Some of the merits of the reported procedure are an operationally simple and concise method, the ready availability of starting materials, excellent product yields, no formation of harmful by-products and easy purification of the products.
