Abstract:One new genus Songmachilis and six new species in family Machilidae are described from China: Songmachilis xinxiangensis gen. sp. nov., Coreamachilis songi sp. nov., Pedetontinus jiuzhaiensis sp. nov., Pedetontinus maijiensis sp. nov., Pedetontinus taishanensis sp. nov. and. Pedetontinus wudangensis sp. nov. A key to all Chinese species of Pedetontinus is given. We also examined the relationships among Chinese machilids based on partial sequences of mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI). The molecular study further supported the species status of the six new taxa.

Abstract:Approximately 120 species of the chrysomelid genus Gonioctena are currently known from Palaearctic, Nearctic and Oriental Regions, amongst them, 51 occur in China.Two new species of the genus Gonioctena, G. klapperichi sp. nov. (Fujian) and G. oberthueri sp. nov. (Sichuan), are described and illustrated from China. Distinguishing characters from closely-related species are presented, respectively. The Gonioctena fauna of China now includes 53 species, of which about 60% are endemic. Ovoviviparity is newly recorded in G. oberthueri sp. nov.

Abstract:Sixteen known species of the genus Ptychoptera Meigen, 1803 have been recorded from China, of which three occur in Yunnan Province. Herein, two new species from Yunnan, P. cordata sp. nov. and P. yunnanica sp. nov. , are described from China. An updated key to Ptychoptera is presented for all Chinese species.

Abstract:Twenty-one (six known and 15 new) species of the genus Leucophenga from the Oriental region are described or redescribed: L. jacobsoni Duda, 1926; L. kurahashii Okada, 1987; L. setipalpis Duda, 1923; L. sorii Kang, Lee Bhang, 1965; L. spinifera Okada, 1987; L. varinervis Duda, 1923; L. acantha Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. alafumosa Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. brevipenis Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. brevitabulata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. delta Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. forcipula Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. fuscipalpula Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. glabtabulata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. helvipecta Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. hyaloptera Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. oxyptera Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. platypyga Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. serrateiceps Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. valvata Huang Chen, sp. nov.; L. zebrina Huang Chen, sp. nov. A key and a morphological summary table to all these Leucophenga species are provided. Phylogenetic relationships among these 21 Leucophenga species, another 14 congeneric, known species from seven groups, and two representative outgroup taxa are reconstructed using 169 DNA sequences of the partial mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (mtCOI) gene. In sum, 13 of the 21 Leucophenga species, which possess the only diagnostic character of the proxima species group (abdominal third tergite shortened, anteriorly discolored in males), are not monophyletic. Therefore, all the Leucophenga species described or redescribed in this study are temporarily classified as unplaced species (except for L. sorii, which has been assigned to the sorii species group) to avoid further confusion.

Abstract:Three subgenera of Chelonus Panzer (1806): Areselonus Braet (1999), Baculonus Braet & van Achterberg (2001) and Megachelonus Baker (1926) are recorded for the first time from China. The species of Chelonus (Areselonus) chailini Walker & Huddleson is reported for the first time, and new host information is provided. The subgenus of Baculonus Braet & van Achterberg, 2001 has been recorded only from the Neotropical region before this study. Chelonus (Baculonus) icteribasis sp. nov., represents the first record of this group from the Old World. Two new species of subgenus Megachelonus, i.e., C. (M.) macros sp. nov. and C. (M.) longqiensis sp. nov., are described from China. A key to the six currently known Megachelonus species is included to facilitate future identifications.

Abstract:Two rare genera are newly reported for China: the Australasian Picacharops Gauld, 1984 and the Oriental Sliochia Gauld, 1976. Abstract:The genus Xestopus Andrewes, 1937 in China is reviewed, with the description of a new species: X. gutangensis Zhu & Kavanaugh, sp. nov. (type locality: Xizang: Mêdog, 29.46414°N, 95.73563°E). The male of X. cyaneus Sciaky & Facchini, 1997 is described for the first time, and the first record of this species in Yunnan, China, represents an eastward range extension for the species. Abstract:Abstract Limnophyes palleocestus sp. n., L. verpus sp. n. and L. bullus sp. n. are described as male and female imago; L. orbicristatus sp. n., and L. opimus sp. n. as male imago. The new species all belong in the minimus group. L. orbicristatus occurs in the Oriental region, L. opimus in the Palaearctic region, while the other species are present in both regions with L. verpus recorded also from North Korea. New records are given for L. asquamatus Andersen, L. brachytomus (Kieffer), L. minimus (Meigen) (with a new record from Burma), and L. difficilis Brundin.

Abstract:Two new species, Macropelopia ( Macropelopia ) excavata Xu & Fu, sp. nov. and Macropelopia ( Macropelopia ) quadrimacula Xu & Fu, sp. nov. , are described as male adults. A key to identify the males of Macropelopia from China is provided. Furthermore, in order to ascertain the genetic distance between these species and their morphological characteristics, mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit I gene sequences were uploaded to the National Center for Biotechnology Information. These COI sequences were then utilized to infer the relationships between the species, employing the neighbor-joining method.

Abstract:Previously, only three species of the genus Neurigona Rondani of the subfamily Neurigoninae were known from Yunnan Province. Here, we reviewed the species of Neurigona from Yunnan and added the following seven new species: N. apicilata sp. nov. , N. basicurva sp. nov. , N. brevidigitata sp. nov. , N. convexa sp. nov. , N. huanglianshana sp. nov. , N. quadrimaculata sp. nov. , and N. ventriprocessa sp. nov. All seven new species are sympatric and were collected from below a reservoir in the Huanglianshan Nature Reserve in Yunnan using three Malaise traps in 2019. This suggests a very high species richness in the Yunnan fauna. A key to the species of Neurigona from Chinese mainland is provided.

Abstract:Seven species of Keilbachia Mohrig are recognized, and among them, two new species, K subacumina Wu & Zhang, sp. n. and K fengyangensis Wu & Zhang, sp. n. are described and illustrated. Five species, K orthonema, K flagrispina, K demssia, K oligonema and K acumina are reported for the first time from China. A key to the 15 Chinese species of this genus is also provided.
