Abstract:We do a numerical calculation on the quark-loop effects on the dressed gluon propagator in the chiral limit. It is found that the quark-loop effects on the dressed gluon propagator are significant in solving the quark propagator in the rainbow approximation of the Dyson-Schwinger equation. The approach we used here is quite general and can also be used to calculate both the chemical potential and current quark mass dependence of the dressed gluon propagator.

Abstract:Based on the global color symmetry model (GCM), a method for obtaining the quark loop effects on the dressed gluon propagator in GCM is developed. In the chiral limit, it is found that the dressed gluon propagator containing the quark loop effects in the Nambu-Goldstone and Wigner phases are quite different. In solving the quark self-energy functions in the two different phases and subsequent study of bag constant one should use the above dressed gluon propagator as input. The above approach for obtaining the current quark mass effects on the dressed gluon propagator is quite general and can also be used to calculate the chemical potential dependence of the dressed gluon propagator.

Abstract:Based on the rainbow approximation of Dyson-Schwinger equation and the assumption that the inverse dressed quark propagator at finite chemical potential is analytic in the neighborhood of {mu}=0, a new method for obtaining the dressed quark propagator at finite chemical potential {mu} from the one at zero chemical potential is developed. Using this method the dressed quark propagator at finite chemical potential can be obtained directly from the one at zero chemical potential without the necessity of numerically solving the corresponding coupled integral equations by iteration methods. A comparison with previous results is given.

Abstract:We study in detail the impact of dynamical quarks on the gluon mass generation mechanism, in the Landau gauge, for the case of a small number of quark families. As in earlier considerations, we assume that the main bulk of the unquenching corrections to the gluon propagator originates from the fully dressed quark-loop diagram. The nonperturbative evaluation of this diagram provides the key relation that expresses the unquenched gluon propagator as a deviation from its quenched counterpart. This relation is subsequently coupled to the integral equation that controls the momentum evolution of the effective gluon mass, which contains a single adjustable parameter; this constitutes a major improvement compared to the analysis presented in Phys. Rev. D86 (2012) 014032, where the behaviour of the gluon propagator in the deep infrared was estimated through numerical extrapolation. The resulting nonlinear system is then treated numerically, yielding unique solutions for the modified gluon mass and the quenched gluon propagator, which fully confirm the picture put forth recently in several continuum and lattice studies. In particular, an infrared finite gluon propagator emerges, whose saturation point is considerably suppressed, due to a corresponding increase in the value of the gluon mass. This characteristic feature becomes more pronounced as the number of active quark families increases, and can be deduced from the infrared structure of the kernel entering in the gluon mass equation.

Abstract:In this paper, the gluon propagator in Landau gauge has been studied on a lattice, including the quenched and the unquenched one. The small geometry size of lattice we use is 16(3) x 32, and the big one is 20(3) x 64. For the quenched approximation, we lit the numerical results and give a little different fitting values. We also obtain unquenched effects by comparing the gluon propagator resulting from the quenched and unquenched configurations, for both the two-flavor and three-flavor cases. For the unquenched configurations, an obvious quark mass dependence has not been found in the small quark mass case, but is found in the three-flavor case when the quark mass is big.

Abstract:We study the interface effects in strangelets adopting mean-field approximation (MFA). Based on an equivparticle model, the linear confinement and leading-order perturbative interactions are included with density-dependent quark masses. By increasing the confinement strength, the surface tension and curvature term of strange quark matter (SQM) become larger, while the perturbative interaction does the opposite. For those parameters constrained according to the 2 M-circle dot strange star, the surface tension is similar to 2.4 MeV= fm(2), while unstable SQM indicates a slightly larger surface tension. The obtained results are then compared with those predicted by the multiple reflection expansion(MRE) method. In contrast to the bag model case, it is found that MRE method overestimates the surface tension and underestimates the curvature term. To reproduce our results, the density of states in the MRE approach should be modified by proper damping factors.

Abstract:From the graphical representation of the Dyson—Schwinger equation for the dressed gluon propagator it is shown that the gluon propagator in the Wigner phase should be different from that in the Nambu phase. Based on this analysis, we propose a modified gluon propagator to reflect this fact. With such a modified gluon propagator, in the framework of the Nambu—Jona—Lasinio (NJL) model, we obtain the Wigner solution to the quark gap equation at finite current quark mass, which has not been found in literature. This provides a new point of view to study partial restoration of chiral symmetry at finite temperature and chemical potential.

Abstract:The computational effort in the calculation of Wilson fermion quark propagators in Lattice Quantum Chromodynamics can be considerably reduced by exploiting the Wilson fermion matrix structure in inversion algorithms based on the non-symmetric Lanczos process. We consider two such methods: QMR (quasi minimal residual) and BCG (biconjugate gradients). Based on the decomposition M/κ = 1/κ−D of the Wilson mass matrix, using QMR, one can carry out inversions on a whole trajectory of masses simultaneously, merely at the computational expense of a single propagator computation. In other words, one has to compute the propagator corresponding to the lightest mass only, while all the heavier masses are given for free, at the price of extra storage. Moreover, the symmetry γ 5 M = M † γ 5 can be used to cut the computational effort in QMR and BCG by a factor of two. We show that both methods then become — in the critical regime of small quark masses — competitive to BiCGStab and significantly better than the standard MR method, with optimal relaxation factor, and CG as applied to the normal equations.

We study the scaling behavior of the quark propagator in full QCD on two lattices with different lattice spacings and similar physical volume. Abstract:By differentiating the dressed quark propagator with respect to a constant external field, the linear response of the nonperturbative dressed quark propagator in the presence of the constant external field can be obtained. From this general method, taking the vector vacuum susceptibility as an illustration, we one extract a model-independent expression for the vacuum susceptibility in the quantum chromodynamical (QCD) sum rule two-point external field formula. This expression for the vacuum susceptibility is quite different from that given in the previous literature. The numerical values of the vector vacuum susceptibility are calculated within the framework of the rainbow-ladder approximation of the Dyson-Schwinger approach. A comparison with the results of the previous approaches is given.
Gluon mass through ghost synergy

Abstract:In this work we compute, at the "one-loop-dressed" level, the nonperturbative contribution of the ghost loops to the self-energy of the gluon propagator, in the Landau gauge. This is accomplished within the PT-BFM formalism, which guarantees the gauge-invariance of the emerging answer. In particular, the contribution of the ghost-loops is automatically transverse, by virtue of the QED-like Ward identities satisfied in this framework. Using as nonperturbative input the available lattice data for the ghost dressing function, we show that the ghost contributions have a rather sizable effect on the overall shape of the gluon propagator, both for $d=3,4$. Then, by exploiting a recently introduced dynamical equation for the effective gluon mass, whose solutions depend crucially on the characteristics of the gluon propagator at intermediate energies, we show that if the ghost loops are removed from the gluon propagator then the gluon mass vanishes. These findings strongly suggest that, at least at the level of the Schwinger-Dyson equations, the effects of gluons and ghosts are inextricably connected, and must be combined suitably in order to reproduce the results obtained in the recent lattice simulations.
