Development of online coordination control system for active power dispatch

Abstract:The analysis of the online active power dispatch problems in security, economy and frequency quality points out that, the uncertain factors are the main causes, such as the temporary dispatch instruction, the deviation of generation schedule and so on. The time-space decomposition based on global coordination may be its solution. Based on a 3-dimensional (space, time and control objective) analysis, the online active power dispatch process is decomposed and a coordinated dispatch scheme is proposed. In time-dimension, the dynamic response ability of generators is considered; in space-dimension, the power balance and transmission security among regions are ensured; and an optimality control is established to cooperate with the coordination process. A prototype is tested on site in Henan provincial power system and the test results prove that, the security, economy and frequency quality of online active power dispatch are improved.
