Abstract:Mobile robots are developing towards intellectualization, which depends on the development of sensor technology. The information fusion technology has overcome the drawback resulting from the application of a single sensor. The present research status of mobile robot at home and abroad is reviewed, the application of information fusion technology in the field of mobile robots is described, and some of the most important information fusion technologies, such as architecture of fusion system, target recognition, autonomous navigation are discussion. The potential application of information fusion technology in the field of mobile robot is forecast.
