Abstract:Considering the characteristics of net-based collaborative product design and the various application requirements, a multi-mode collaborative design method is proposed. Several typical types of collaborative design mode are given. Based on XML and VRML technology, the integration model for net-based collaborative product design is put forward. The realization mechanism of information integration, process integration, and knowledge integration for net-based collaborative product design is given. A general type of net-based collaborative product design support system is designed and developed. The system architecture and realization method are presented. The application of the developed system has been applied to the development of micro-satellite. The results show that the developed system has an open and flexible structure with the advantages of scalability, and can be configured to form various application systems and integrate with other systems.
