Abstract:The characteristics of fast state variables of singular systems is governed by algebraic equations. This fact implies that the impulses may destroy the consistency of singular systems, which limits the use of impulsive feedback on singular systems. In order to overcome the obstacle, an impulsive H∞ control strategy for a class of singular time-delay systems is proposed in this paper. Under the assumption that the fast dynamics have certain stability performance, the impulses are exerted on the slow state variables so that the consistency is still retained and a prescribed level for H∞ performance the attention can be guaranteed by impulse feedback. To obtain a less conservative H∞ performancecriterion, adescriptor type of impulse-time-dependent Lyapunovfunctional is constructedby taking into account specific knowledgeon hybrid structure of the considered systems. By utilizing a convex technique combined with the use of linear matrix inequalities ( LMIs) method, a sufficient condition for the existence of impulsive H∞ controllers is derived. A criterion for designing impulsive H∞ controllers is also presented. Finally, the validity of the proposed method is proved by numerical simulation.
