Abstract:In order to formulate a simple and precise expression for studying rotor-bearing-sealing system, the structural dynamic characteristics of brush seals were analyzed. Using the elastic theory, and the nonlinear dynamic equations have been established for the action between the ring seal and the rotor with the nonlinear friction between the ring seal and the rotor taken into consideration.An approximate expression is derived for the nonlinear supporting stiffness to provide a mathematical model and method for study of nonlinear dynamics of rotor-bearing-sealing system. The correctness of the expression was proved through numerical simulation.
