Abstract:The smart factory concept has emerged as an interesting research topic for the development of next-generation manufacturing systems. The computerized numerical control (CNC) machine tools are the core manufacturing equipment in discrete manufacturing enterprises. Here, data collection and monitoring are an important part of intelligent manufacturing workshops. As modern automation and computer technology advance, the shortcomings of the older version of the CNC system become more apparent. This study presents a remote monitoring and management system for CNC machine tools using the Internet of things (IoT). The objective is to meet the demands of information integration of the underlying CNC equipment. First, we explain the power line carrier, alarm information, servo currents, fault diagnosis, remote control, online management of processing operations, and maintenance of machine tools information for the suggested system. This explanation helps us to understand the real-time processing and parameters of CNC machine tools. The proposed system reduces the power consumption of wireless sensor nodes used for monitoring the CNC machines. In addition, the IoT protocol used in this research allows for real-time communication between the CNC operating platform and the wireless sensor nodes. The experimental results indicate that a CNC monitoring model using IoT can provide temperature and vibration data for the CNC operating platform in real-time time, with the benefits of a simple layout and dependable connectivity.
