Effects of Adalat GITS and Ecodipin on Blood Pressure Variability in Patients with Primary Hypertension

Abstract:To observe the effect of calcium antagonists Aadala GITS(long-term)，Nifedipin retard (Ecodipin,Mid-term) and Nifedipin(short-term) on the blood pressure variability in patients with primary hypertension.Methods:Eighty patients with primary hypertension were divided into four groups:group Ⅰ,no medicine was given;group Ⅱ,treated with Adalat GITS 30 mg/d;group Ⅲ,treated with Ecodipin 20 mg/12 h;and groupⅣ,treated with Nifedipin 10 mg/8 h.The blood pressure variability of all the patients was measured on the 7th day of the treatment by ambulatory blood pressure monitoring.Results:Compared with group Ⅰ，blood pressure variability did not change in group Ⅲ；but increased in group Ⅳ；In group Ⅱ，the blood pressure variability of systolic blood pressure was decreased but that of diastolic blood pressure did not change.Conclusions:Adalat GITS is effective in decreasing the variability of systolic blood pressure in patients with primary hypertension,Nifedipin increases the blood pressure variability;while Ecodipin has no effect on changing the blood pressure variability.
